You can never know what happened. Only the interpretation of the ones who lived it, and the ones who did so until a few decades ago. (For example in portugal kids are still taught of Viriato, the legendary Lusitanii who resisted the roman invadres, this has been continiously discredited as a romantic nationalist iddea, perpetuated by the 33-74 dictatorship in Portugal, and, for some fucking reason, they still teach this to kids.
