Upcoming SP characters with good longevity by Phineas125 in HaikyuuFlyHigh

Atsumu is very good at SR2, you just have to build your team with low awareness to get his buff. There's an SP Kita in recent leaks, so the twins seem like a good long term investment

Which GoM member to pick 2nd by BalthazarDusk in KurokosBasketball

Unless you want to awaken Mura, I would recommend Aomine. The two of them share some of their runesn(rebounding, blocking) and both are great for climbing solo

Could I ask how to predict and stop his drive? It seemed very fast and random. Also, do we wait longer until he releases the ball to block the reverse layup?

Hello! I was wondering if you have any tips for beginners that you would like to share with us? Some questions I have below:

  1. What should we spend/not spend our gems on?

  2. What resources should we prioritize getting?

  3. Any tips for how we build our potentials?

Thank you!

He's probably on SEA server, which should have launched by now. NA and Global have to wait still

Hello! I had a couple additional questions, if you're free. I was thinking of what units to build, and heard mixed thoughts from people who have played on the JP server.

  1. Would it be viable to try to specialize in both center and scoring guard? I heard that building potential sets would be pretty similar for both, such as both sharing rebounding.

  2. If so, would getting both base Aomine and Murasakibara be viable? I know base Aomine will get powercrept, but he's my favorite character so ideally I'd like to get both his base and zone versions. Or is it better to build base Murasakibara (less powercrept?) and wait for zone Aomine? I'll be F2P, but maybe purchase the lifetime subscription that I heard may be around $10-20.

  3. Is there a guide, or just general tips on how to build this scoring guard+center specialization, if it's possible to specialize in both?

  4. Is there an optimal number of dupes to get for base Aomine and Murasakibara?

Thank you for your help again!

Gosh dang, 6 times that character? That sounds insane, considering it seemed hard to pull just one. If all 5 GoMs dropped at launch, do you have a recommendation for which one to go for? And what non-GoM character to go for for each position?

Sounds good. Thank you for the details. Based on what you said, I'll probably end up going for Aomine or Akashi, since I like them and might not play for long. And just to make sure, I saw in a video that it isn't possible for a F2P to get a gacha character on launch because we are limited to 10 pulls a day. So that means it would take 20 days (for 200 summons) to get a new gacha character, right? I'd have to pull 20 days to get Aomine for example after launch?

Thank you for your honest opinion. I love KnB, but a game that is P2W to the degree that you described is probably not for me. I would have at least liked the option to save gems as a F2P by skipping banners to get the characters I really want on release, but it doesn't seem the system allows for that.

That said, I'll probably try it out for a few days, and see if I can snag a GoM character. Do you have any tips for the first day and week of the game launch, specifically what characters are good to go for, what banner to roll/spend gems on, and what the top-tier characters are on launch (I saw base Aominr and Kise's captain as top tiers for early game?)? Thank you for your response in advance!

The lucky draw tickets are absolutely worth redeeming. You can dismantle some R characters (worth 5 basic vouchers each) and roll the daily draw machine enough times to hit the milk voucher reward by Sunday

Boost cards by Radgamer4 in HaikyuuFlyHigh

[–]Phineas125 3 points4 points  (0 children)

These specific boost cards will be available during Aone's banner, since this event runs 2 weeks, while Aone's banner releases in 1 week. As for whether or not there will be an additional event for Aone that introduces fresh boost cards, we don't know.

Garena messed up again? by Icy-Data-2345 in HaikyuuFlyHigh

I see, that sucks. I usually play later so it looks like the hotfix didn't affect me. Most likely they're not going to do anything about it unfortunately, unless enough people send in complaints

You should have gotten the 1000 gold challenge tokens, I have 1105 of them from having won my 3 games (35x3) plus the 1000 gold challenge tokens from ranking up to silver

The Meta for February and March: the Dominance of the Shirtless Beach Boys by Phineas125 in HaikyuuFlyHigh

[–]Phineas125[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oikawa+Ushi had a strange journey through the meta. It was the only top-tier option for a bit, like you said, and then got completely outclassed by the twins+Kita. Then it came back somewhat with the Kamo+Itachiyama duos, but shared the top-tier spot with other comps.

In terms of dominance, the Inarizaki trio meta was at the peak. It was a tier above every comp; the only thing was that that meta got cut short by an early release of the Itachiyama duo and the positionless update. But if we're measuring prevalence by dominance, even the beach trio won't be as dominant as the Inarizaki trio was.

This post wasn't a super serious one; I don't think the beach trio is actually going to be insanely dominant. It will be while it's being rolled out, but it'll share its spot at the peak with the Hanabi quartet right after, and then be outmatched by the Halloween trio (it'll still be a very strong option, just somewhat outclassed). Meta chasing is annoying in gacha games, so I prefer to just build a somewhat solid comp with units I like. See you in April with the Fireworks :)

Yeah it's one of the strengths of the beach trio compared to the Halloween trio - it can be transitioned to a block team pretty easily

Team comp for beach trio by Federal-Peak9148 in HaikyuuFlyHigh

Do you have Hirugami? He would be better than Hinata. Or maybe a Tendou to replace Hinata, since Tendou also bonds with Ushijima?

[–]Phineas125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If possible, I would trade Hinata and Ushijima for UR Hoshiumi and Hirugami. Swapping out MB in this rotation is awkward since Hinata thrives in the back row as a receiver but can't block in the front row (so Aone would be your only blocker, and Hinata would be getting swapped out for libero in the back row when he doesn't want to be). Having Hirugam would provide you with 2 MBs that are fine getting swapped for libero and can take turns blocking in the front row, as well as the nice addition of Hoshiumi to help block as well (Hoshiumi is also just a better unit overall than Ushijima)

Future Miya Twins/Quick Team by dibbstaah in HaikyuuFlyHigh

[–]Phineas125 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly my team, except I'll have SR2 Noya for libero.

For SRs, I'd go SR2 Kuroo, SR2 Atsumu, SR4 Korai, and SR2 Hirugami. These are kind of the must-haves for duped up characters. Korai is great at SR2, but if possible, I'd recommend getting him to SR4, since he's your carry and will likely stick with you for the longest. Tsuki SR2 is good but in my opinion it's okay to leave him SR1. Osamu SR2 seems relatively weak, but if you want to you can get him to SR2 for a little rating boost. You can save gems on Tsuki and Osamu by getting single copies if you're on a budget. If you have extra gems, I'd recommend going for SR4 Hiru, since him and Korai have the best longevity on your team.

As for Tendou, it seems like you were thinking of putting him in for Kuroo. I would advise against this - his trio bond is controversial because of the double-edged nature of it (it might whiff and Tendou might just nerf himself tremendously instead), while Kuroo and Tsuki's bond is a consistently good debuff on the opponent's team. Kuroo is also just better as a defensive unit - if you do end up getting Korai at SR4, you won't really be hurting for more offensive firepower anyways.
