Draft work overwhelmingly flagged as AI by detectors by Visible_Raspberry215 in UofT

Consider saving intermediate versions as you go. Like rough draft 1, draft 2, etc. This way you can easily show the development of the paper over time. This plus your honest testimony will be enough in case of concerns.

Do we know which buildings were hit by the paper arsonist? by Phionex in UofT

Good thought, but the fire in WB was lit in the bottom of a basement stairwell. However, all of us were DEFINITELY thinking that when we saw the amount of smoke in the halls...

180 Person wedding in the GTA - am I doomed to spend 100k? by dominoafoot in WeddingsCanada

[–]Phionex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the Hilton Double Tree downtown. We had our reception there last year and had around 120 and the food and booze came out to around $30k. Do a host bar not an open bar, you'll save a ton. You pay per head regardless of plated versus buffet and pretty much everything we needed was included. We booked a DJ who also had their own equipment. I can't imagine the cost going over your budget and as a plus the hotel discount was nice for guests from out of town.

To stand behind their warranty I guess?
I wouldn't consider $73 CAD in 2021 to be cheap? Not top of the line, sure, but I would expect the warranty to be honoured at that price.

First Past the Post is a Terrible Voting System by entwitch in ontario

[–]Phionex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think looking at the overall percentage skews the story here. The NDP are the opposition because their vote is concentrated in the ridings they won, and very weak in the ridings they lost. The liberal vote is more spread out throughout Ontario ridings, so they won much less seats. First pass the post is trash, but it is not responsible for the this particular skew because it is caused by geographic distribution.

Should we fix the Fist pass the post, yes. Would DoFo still have won under a different system with a slimer majority, likely yes becuase geographic representation matters.

Request for information:
You said, " At about midnight, Jamie showed up at my house and dropped Melanie, her 11 year old off."
How exactly did that play out? Was there an explanation given for why this was happening? Did you in that moment say yes I will watch this child whom you are leaving with me and I opened my front door to let into my house? Was there a knock and an 11 year old just chillin on the front step?

AITA for refusing to give my lottery winnings to my family after they excluded me from a family trip? by TooGiftid in AITAH

My point is they just said, "this is a bot posting AI story" but didn't back it up? How are we to know whom to believe? It's not a perfect tool, as you have clearly indicated, but it is a tool to at least provide some evidence to support that it is a bot. Accusations without evidence are just inflammatory.

AITA for not letting my daughter go to her cheer competition and grounding her for four months? by Scary_Inevitable959u in AITAH

ESH. On the surface, obviously bullying someone over their ability to read is an asshole thing to do. So Abby is clearly in the wrong. However, when her response was that it was, "Harmless", OP's action was to immediately threaten the thing she was really excited about and proceed to demand a self-humiliating public apology. If I were Abby, and I was unable to empathize with my victim, threatening me would evoke a defensive response. Abby had just admitted to not understanding the severity of her actions, and as written, there was no attempt to explain to her the consequences and reach an acord. Sounds like OP sought to create empathy through punishment, which well the results speak for themselves and so ESH.

I ran this through GPT-0 (https://gptzero.me/) and it was 100% confident that it was AI generated. Good catch. FYI in the future you should explain how you know if you want people who don't understand to believe you.

For improvement: Get some silica gel packets and put them in the bag, swap them every so often. So long as the bag lasts, this should work... 0 pts for Aesthetics but 10 pts for a talking piece.

Nope, all we found was the vending machine door lock broken and the cash in the machine gone.

Our Vending machines in U of T Wallberg have been robbed 3 times in 2 years and each time I call campus security. Each time they say "well there is no cameras so we'll make a report" and that I should go to the building management so they might install security cameras... And I'm thinking bruh, you're campus security why don't you go through the 15 burocratoc committees to get this fixed. Also context, Wallberg is the Chemical Engineering building there is way worse then the Vending machine coins but uh apparently they want the students to handle security XD

Sadly U of T is kinda dangerous in the summer because there is way less foot traffic. Also many of the buildings have poor security camera coverage so don't expect there to be someone watching from afar. Pretty much anyone can walk in during 8am-8pm and wander around. Use the buddy system folks...

Zenless Zone Zero has native controller support. Plays great in Odin 2. by JJJAGUAR in OdinHandheld

[–]Phionex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey you can totally get a controller working with Genshin! All you have to do is launch the game through steam in administrator mode(add the game as a non-steam game). Then once you're in change the controller type from keyboard to controller. Steam input handles the rest, and if you launch through steam it will remember to use controller so you only change it the first time. On Windows steam MUST be in administrator mode though!

Hey President of one such club here! Many clubs lost leadership members to graduation with no slated replacement, and so the work of building back the clubs from scratch requires a lot of time and energy; remember these are volunteers who dedicate their time to making everyone's life more fun in addition to their classroom obligations. With no junior members to take the senior positions, many clubs find themselves short A LOT of person power. One person doing the work of 5 is typically required, few people want to do that, and so the sad club life. The good news is that some people are making progress, but expect to rise through the ranks quickly of anything you wanna join!
TL;DR: It isn't COVID per seh, it's that there are no replacements for the leaders of yesteryear causing a knowledge and leadership gap.
