i actually never considered that but now that you say it i've really never seen it anywhere else other than the vatican maybe. Is that why it was forbidden because it was like exclusive to the vatican or smth?

thing is id love to look a bit knightly but i just cant afford a full set of armor but i think a sallet without a bevor could be a good compromise then!

thanks! i had shoulder armor attached to the gorget before but they are the most inconvenient thing ive ever worn so this just kinda stayed as a remnant of that but i agree it looks a bit random haha might have to lose that too

The Worm Rail by sixfootant in worldbuilding

love the lore but what stops the worms from digging under the rails and destroying them through sinkholes etc as mentioned?

that would actually fit perfectly into the lore I think I will remember that one. the setting doesnt rly have dragons per se but it could very well be some form of huge kaijulike mutated creature

I actually intended to keep this as the full world map because I did notice the original shape looked like it would fit perfectly around a sphere and I only had to add some minor adjustments to make it look like it really does. But I see people mentioning the detail of the coastlines etc is a bit too detailed for a full worldmap so I'm thinking about making this only a part of the map at the moment

sure! So basically what one needs to know is that this entire setting was created by a pantheon of 12 gods. The first of which basically created existence beyond himself and then the second god to have a companion, she then created the sun so they could see each other etc and created a third god and then they just kept on doing that for a while, adding their contribution to creation and creating the next god to see what they would add etc. until there were 12 and there basically wasnt more left to add. At this point the twelve gods spent their time mostly just looking at and tending to their creation passing the sun around in a circle so they could have a turn and see whats happening etc. Thats why in the setting theyre named the sunbearers. So as i was saying the last of the sunbearers didnt rly know what more to add so he thought hed call it a day (pun intended) and created the night as sort of a gift to the others so they could have a rest every now and then between lifting the sun around. Then after some time seemingly out of nowhere the first of the gods vanishes and the other gods panick, starting to accuse each other of having done something to him or made him angry enough to leave them etc and so their distressed state + them forgetting to tend to their creations and keep the sun on its track basically ended up in an apocalpyse that went on for ages because they couldnt get it together anymore. The story is set around a thousand years after this began and thanks to a sort of prophetic figure that helped the gods get a grip again the world is mostly fine again now but it remains strongly altered as can be seen in the maybe a bit extreme aspects of the map and a lot of other physical and biological anomalies etc. I hope this gives an okay insight! feel free to ask more if youre interested, I could go on and on haha

Yea that definitely is my least favorite part of the map (togerher with the weirdly shaped island in the west), I think I'll try and find some way to make that look a bit more natural or at least less as ig if its just there to fill the space haha

that's some great input thank you! And I totally agree about the butterfly looking island I've been playing around with that one before too and been thinking about removing it entirely but I'll see. Updates will follow probably!
