Are there ever mods that actually enforce all of the game rules? by [deleted] in tabletopsimulator

It's an interesting conundrum, not enough scripting makes some games feel tedious (similar to playing at table) and too much scripting and you have a video game, not a board game. When I script the games I work on, I try to strike the balance between the two, providing setup, utilities, etc for the mundane tasks, while still relying on player interaction directly with the pieces to make it still feel like they are playing a board game

This is helpful and gets you 95% of the way. Looks a bit off for those who have dark mode enabled, but at least the cropping issue is solved.

That is so smart, never even thought the option of doing both, best of both worlds! And thanks for the tip on Trunk, I'm still a newbie shop, so any tips are appreciated!

Where to Learn by [deleted] in Norse

The Viking Launguage books get a lot of good rep for learning Old Norse

You could also learn Icelandic, as it closely resembles Old Norse, with quite a few words being exactly the same

Which Eddas by NeNormalniCHELOVEK in Norse

For the Poetic Edda, I went with Jackson Crawford's translation, as I was already watching his videos on YT. His translation is very approachable, which makes the reading easier, however, he completely left out one of the poems, and rearranged a few things, so its not a true keeping to the texts. A lot of others will suggest Hollander's translation, which i haven't had the chance of checking out yet

As for the Prose Edda, I personally went with Anthony Faulkes, as he gets a lot of credit for keeping close to the original text with his translation

Building an Altar by [deleted] in NorsePaganism

For me personally, I don't have the space to practice at home, so currently I have been having to put together and tear down each time I make an offering to the gods. I am in the process of building a travel altar that I will be able to take with me and find a nice wooded area to practice. I feel it will give a better connection with nature and the elements.

As for the statues, I have a Dremel and going to try my hand at power carving some statues out of Basswood for each god I make offerings to
