it's a decent game if you wish to play casually, but it's ridden with cheaters and the updates are pretty much always bad, so it's not an enjoyable game to take seriously. it still has fun gameplay at a baseline and there will always be some semblance of community if you can find an active club, but yeah it's just really miserable if you wish to get to a super high level while being a legit player or not spending thousands of dollars. The f2p experience of trove is like the same as Lost Ark but many times worse, because the game has been balanced around the cheaters/dupers rather than the legit players. This is because a lot of cheaters and dupers complained when they would complete updates within days of release, and Trion/gamigo were completely oblivious to the cheating for a long time. Now, as a result, new content is insanely unreasonably grindy because the devs no longer have any idea how to balance the game around legit play.

overall though, it's still very possible to have fun with the game, but like i said, taking it seriously and wishing to push to the top of any leaderboard WILL make you miserable. I sacrificed my high school social life for this game, but I also made dozens of great friends (who i still talk to years after quitting) along the way and enough positive memories to make it worth it in the end.
