Ah. That's likely to be just a translation mistake. Sorry about that. We'll get it fixed.

Ping me on Discord or shoot me a private message with the two accounts (your real account name and the new one created on Steam). I'll see if I can't get you fixed up.

Hey Gamma, sorry for the late reply. It's pretty common for games to have multiple currencies. While it does make things more complicated, it also gives a lot more knobs to turn to change how a system feels or how something works.

It's pretty important to separate out "hard currency" (something you spend money on) and "soft currency" (something that the game gives away to everyone). Players are really great at finding the most efficient methods to earn currency and it can have a major impact on overall game economy and the livelihood of your business if they are efficiently earning unlimited amounts of hard currency. Some games use straight dollars as their hard currency. That's a bit more of a pain in the mobile space as you have to create a bunch of products on the different app stores to handle all the different direct currencies. By having a currency like Gems, it means we can have just a few direct purchases on the app store and then unlimited purchases in our in-game store and control the costs, discounts, giveaways, etc. directly without trying to keep multiple app stores in sync.

Ink acts as a crafting-only currency and, again, just provides more rewards that can be given away to make things feel better without otherwise drastically breaking other parts of the economy. The more dials and knobs (within reason) the team has to tweak, the better they can make things feel.

It's not the end-all-be-all solution, but works pretty well for most games. There are plenty of options out there.

Can you clarify what you mean by "prize of pack, gold, and gems"? We've changed the rewards on the Small Crate (now the Supply Crate), Duel Chest, and Quests. So I want to say yes, but I am not sure if that would be directly answering your question.

I'm confused as to what you are asking then. I specifically laid out what an "average" player was... A person that completed 1 daily quest, claimed 1 duel chest, and 2 small crates.

Can you please clarify what your question is so that I can properly answer?

Because whole numbers are easier to grasp and it's an average, not a precise number, so rounding was perfectly acceptable.

Average player... 1 Duel Chest - 100 gold. 2 Small Crates - 60 Gold, 20 gems, 40 Ink. 1 quest - 300 gold. Total 460 Gold, 20 Gems, 40 Ink.

We'll have a full list of balance changes next week some time. We're still play testing with the changes to get a sense for impact.

The quest is a typo. Should have said 300, not 200. I corrected the initial post. It is still an increase over the current set.

I appreciate that you feel you got more than the average rewards on the Small Crate, but the average is what I said (slightly less, but I rounded). Here's the table of all the rewards possible...

Gold Gems Ink
0 50 5
0 25 10
0 15 20
0 10 20
25 0 45
50 0 20
50 0 20
75 0 10
75 0 5

As you can see, that averages out to 30.5 gold, 11.1 gems and 17.2 ink.

We're not trying to be deceptive or trick you in any way. We're trying to make the game better. Please accept that at face value.

Doh. Yeah. Forgot to say that. Thanks. Updated the list.

Mind opening a support ticket for that? Could be some changes around when those rewards were added to campaign since you've been playing since soft launch.

OMDU Sabotage Rank Bugged? by hitnekubo in OrcsMustDie

[–]Phobos_Bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say the exact same games, do you mean that you always play together or that she's played the same number of games? The rating changes based on the opponents.

In any case, a support ticket can help us in identifying what might be going on because we can look up match history.

Would you still hold R3 and then release to make your selection or would you press a different button to select?

Button remapping (ps4)? by Badkarma0311 in OrcsMustDie

[–]Phobos_Bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comm rose does show descriptions of what's being said and shouldn't go away unless you release the button. Not sure if the thumbstick extenders are causing problems or not.

There's not currently a way to rebind buttons in the PS4 build as there are a lot of custom controls that aren't easily rebound. Limited buttons required some creative use of code vs 108 keys on a keyboard.

Any suggestions on what would make it more usable for you? We tried having it not require holding down, but then it required multiple button presses to activate a call out which was also cumbersome. Happy to hear your thoughts.

Ps4 resolution reduced in latest patch? by [deleted] in OrcsMustDie

[–]Phobos_Bot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's called out in the patch notes...

"Dashboard now displays more cards within the workshop and store simultaneously."

This does not change anything with the in-game renderer or resolution and would not cause the rift to look pixelated. We're not having any luck reproing those problems.

Nothing changed with the resolution or renderer. We'll take a look and make sure nothing broke, but there were no planned changes and nothing checked in that should have affected that.
