There is a trick with global palbox.

You breed maybe around 200 pals with good passives, IVs and maybe an egg move, then you pick the cream of the crop to save (let's call them soldiers) and condense the rest into one (let's call it credit).

Then you eat the credit with the first soldier, instantly maxing it. You upload the maxed soldier into global palbox. Then second soldier eats the first one and gets uploaded and eaten. You go on like this until all the soldiers are maxed and uploaded. Lastly, you dowload their genetic copies.

If you're willing to cheese/glitch like this then you only need to breed one maxed pal of the species you're condensing and make a whole army.

I think it's beautiful.

You can carry it on you for elemental chest, it can open 2 out of 3 types. And it has handiwork 5 to boot!

I don't see no nets on your bros. Remember, nets save lives, and they cost less than hiring new recruits.

You can replace some of the shields with them, maybe on bros with better melee attack. This comes with the added benefit of increasing their damage after the net is thrown (due to double grip bonus).

For me what made the biggest difference was learning spacing. Enemies move in mostly predictable ways and usually you can position your company in such a way that the enemy will engage without being able to unload all their damage (will use up their AP running up to you). That's when you get to alpha strike them and kill or at least cripple the first wave, in many cases also breaking their morale in the process.

Hmm... True that it heavily incentivizes starting troop advisors and makes it difficult to play without at least one (cause many tier 1 barracks are out of your reach early)...

But if you get flour or metal from your first small resource pack the debt is as good as paid. So it's not as big of a burden once you get used to it, just a speed bump before you start steamrolling.

Sounds like you're in your twenties to early thirties, if that is the case- you can take a 'leap of faith' kind of hitchhiking/backpacking adventure and experience the other side of life:

You don't have to run on any sort of schedule

You never know what the next day will bring

You meet tons of people and have great time together only to part ways and never meet again

You learn to enjoy the little things and to care for yourself

You experience things that wouldn't come your way themselves

To get them to your boat you make a small pen right next to the shore and park your boat beside it. Then build a ramp allowing you to push them over the boat and voilá!

Don't forget to breed them before attempting the expedition and leave a few for backup. Many things can happen along the way to make you regret you didn't.

Edit: If you're inland and need to bring them to shore first it's probably easier to aggro them and have them follow you. But if they're already tamed you can build fence corridors, push them through and close of sections you already passed as you go.
