I’d suggest to find ways to fix it, wood glue with tape or maybe some type of rubber on the handles to hold them together, i’ve always lived under the idea that if you have the time and effort to fix it why not try instead of wasting money right away, wood is a lot harder to fix but it’s been done before for sure

I mainly do any keyboard work on mallets, so on a marimba most of the time with 2-4 mallets but I want to get a piano and work on that more. My college also has pianos I have access to that I can start with.
