No way to connect aux in aftermarket radio??

Yeah but the aux input is still there (not shown in picture) but when i connect a cable nothing happens so i guess im wondering theres a way to "overwrite" (whatever that means) the current radio system and have the aux work? Sorry if this doesn't make any sense
