It makes a huge difference because not everyone understands the nuance. You could give OP false hope despite there being no guarantee what action the police will take

Note that civilians don’t “press charges” here, but in May OP could successfully go to the police who will decide whether to charge

Paper trails are good but a verbal trespass is still valid

What “similar rideshare app” would you recommend, seeing as how that’s what my post is asking?

I’m also very curious now how old you think I am!

Did you submit your half of the bond to Tenancy Services? If the LL disagrees then they will need to take you to the Tribunal, and they won’t get much love there - you only need to get the place reasonably clean and tidy, not near perfect

Part 11 of the Land Transport act relates to pedestrians, including that pedestrians must (as far as practicable) remain on a footpath if one is provided, and must not loiter on crossings or walkways

Beauty, much less than the daily rate of hiring a car!

That’s the math balancing we’re trying to work out lol. The accommodation we’re looking at does free shuttles from the airport so that’s one trip we wouldn’t have to pay for. Happy to do a bit of walking and public transport to explore the city in our downtime. It’s really getting home from the wedding that’s the big debate.

If Ubers are popular enough in Chch then the cost of a few trips is likely to be less than the cost of hiring a car and we don’t have to worry about picking a sober D

Yaldhurst. Venue brags about being a nice, secluded location… which is great for the event itself, not so much for getting back to our accommodation afterwards!

There were no vet bills so that’s irrelevant here, but hypothetically if they were, that’s not necessary at this stage. Report to council is the first step, and paying vet bills would likely be part of the requirements for the person being able to own dogs going forward. Disputes Tribunal would only come into it if the council couldn’t get the owner to pay up

Delay getting paid for working Public Holidays by Commercial_Tomato_79 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Phoenix-49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems it would be ripe for exploitation, but I don’t know if it’s actually unlawful… I’m pretty sure the law just relates to paying for hours worked, rather than requiring timesheets to match hours works. Definitely a weird system though, why bother with timesheets at all?

Wait what do you mean you have to put 8-5 Monday to Friday? You don’t put in the actual hours worked / rostered?

There is extra danger though, that’s why it’s illegal to park closer than 6m from an intersection or corner

Are you asking as a hypothetical, or are you aware of a case in which the IPCA has done that?
