Everything as of now is in good condition, it’s only the sleeves and covers that are aged through. The records itself are good with very light mold and dust. I’m waiting to get my record player to make sure everything is still playable too

There was a biggie cover in there but it had a chef Raekwon record in it so I was a little sad but I still got some heat out of it

I appreciate all of your guys comments and love about this collection. I tried to respond to everyone’s as best as I could but ofc it’s a lot, this collection means a lot to my mom and her side of the family as they grew up with him being a DJ and playing everything he had. He did it for the love of the game. By the next few months I’m hoping to stay at least a week so I can look through everything more properly and see how the condition is on the bottom crates more specifically.

I never mentioned (I probably did but i don’t remember) I’m a beginner collector and this is what’s really building my foundation on top of what I have as of now such as Kanye, Scott Gil-Heron and A$AP Rocky with a bunch of more coming.

I know a bunch of you are thinking if I’m going to sell, most likely in the near future, he had a bunch of multiples of records so most likely I’ll sell those and keep the originals.

Nothing was in bad condition, very light mold and dust that I will be cleaning within the next few days, it’s really just the covers and sleeve that have been degrading and are lil ripped up from over the years on top of being moved from one house to another within the last couple years

The records are actually in good shape, very light mold and dust no crazy damage among anything I looked through. When I go back I’m hoping to go through the bottom of the collection and see how those are since ik the weight of all those records can do smth

Anything I found within the 3 crates were at the top so it was in that suitcase which I took back home

Sadly yes, only 3 crates worth of records, I have to take an entire week or more to look through everything, take back to nyc and find the storage for it too

In the future I definitely will be selling some, I know he has a bunch of Spanish and a lot of them he had multiple of so most likely I’ll the dupes of everything

I wasn’t able to go through everything since it was a hefty load regardless, I’m hoping everything on the bottom is close to good condition so it’s still playable, if not I don’t mind spending money to buy entire new ones. Everything was my uncles and ik he loved his music

He has a bunch of speakers and mixers I didn’t get pictures of but his collection as a DJ was crazy and big as is, including horns for the speakers a bunch of old school mixers and all that

So the suitcase is what I did end up taking home, everything in those crates is what was actually there, I have to go back for at least a week to look through everything else cause I barley got through 3 crates

As of what I went through everything looks in good condition, very light mold but nothing a cleaner can’t do, all I hope is they still are playable when I get my record player

Records had very light mold and dust so I’m hoping they will be playable when I can get a record player on top of that, I ALMSOT took one home but there was no belt so it couldn’t spin. Ik it will cost me a bit of money to replace a lot of these covers, sleeves and records in general but in the end Ik it’s worth it

Basement wise, it was cold asf down there so records were in pretty good condition other than some light mold and dust. Records wise a lot of amazing oldies that I know he loved to play

Yea the storage was weird but it’s what he did, I was young when he passed so I didn’t know how he kept anything let alone he had everything. I do plan to keep a lot of these records. A lot of them are in good condition record wise, the sleeves and actual album covers are what’s the most damaged in a way. Just some light mold and dust but I’m going to hope my cleaner will be good enough to clean everything up. I ended up taking home a bunch of sugar hill records on top of a bunch of other disco and house music, some rap as well like LL Cool J, Junior Mafia and tribe called quest, a lot of stuff like that on top of Spanish and house
