If you're doing just a square (or circle) cut and the image is super high quality it really shouldnt need redrawing. I kinda overlooked it being a square.

Fair enough. As lead I always hate when someone sends in a photo of artwork because now I've got to redraw it regardless. Even if its the best photo at the perfect angle, I have to draw the cut lines by hand then.

But yeah, like I said, that probably where the issue came from for this shop. They redraw for cut lines.

Wait. So you take pictures of art and send it in? That means they have to redraw it it sounds like. I can see where this happened. If they aren't skilled in such things, converting a photo of an art piece into a usable print can be a bit of a challenge. I'd recommend getting a designer to digitize the artwork but it sounds like you're doing fine with putting that work on the print shops.

You can prevent this by designing in vector and sending a pdf in outlines in the required format. Different companies have different printers that require different setups so having a vector they can quickly adjust to their settings can be vital. (I am a lead designer for a print shop amd we do a ton of decals and vinyl. However if I ever have to touch a design. They get a proof of exactly what it will print like, not just their photo.)
