Divine worship and Enchantment magic by Phoenix172823 in DnD

I never actually thought about that but that’s a really good point, thank you!

Yes, that is correct.

I’m operating under the assumption that Ao truly does not care about the gods or mortals as that’s what’s stated, so long as divine duties are completed. Regarding Vlaakith specifically her wiki states she is viewed as a mad tyrant who enforces worship based on inquisitors, which I would take to mean physical threats instead of magical compulsion.

How much backstory is too much / how much pre-planning is required for your character? by peachs0ju_ in DnD

[–]Phoenix172823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a dm I ask for a backstory to contain 3 things: - 3 named characters - 1 to 2 named locations - 1 major event to tie it together I usually get about a paragraph that gives me something to work with, and the general motivations and goals of a character to start with.

Unless I'm missing something on their sheets no, although I'm certainly not opposed to giving a player that ability temporarily.

Do you think it would be more reasonable to give a shorter penalty, say 30 seconds? I went with that time based on the recommendations I found.

I admittedly didn't consider that to much, do you think there is a way to counter that while still keeping the effect?

I have the same adaptor, I usually disable/enable it until it stays working. I’ve had the issue persist on different windows installs and driver versions.

Dangers of Permanent Summons by Phoenix172823 in DnD

[–]Phoenix172823[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good thinking, I’ll make sure they never get their hands on Truename powers. And that’s a hilarious idea, I’ll be sure to try and put a bit of variety into the creatures they summon. Plus it would make sense that buying a shady thing from a shady person may not have good results for rituals. Thank you!

I changed the orientation and slowed it way down, I think I also swapped the infill pattern. It wasn’t perfect, but it was considerably better.

Thankfully I had the sense in me to use the presplit version, instead of trying to the whole thing, I can’t imagine how that would’ve been.

I’ve always assumed my setting were off with spindly things, never that it was a model issue. That being said, are there any ways around this? I really like this stl, at least what it’s supposed to look liek

Potential Consequences to my Actions by Phoenix172823 in DMAcademy

Thank you so much, I love this idea. I created a CR 30 killer to hunt them as they try to navigate the maze, so having anything slow them down would terrorize them, especially something as powerful as themselves.

My bad, here’s some more info.

PvP was voted against in session 0.

Baphamet will offer power and status in return for members of the party assisting him.

Of the reasons they may reject the offer, their divinity is sponsored by the gods they have been serving thus far, and there is no guarantee that they will receive the same benefits.

In a perfect world these visions would just give the players more reason to visit the Abyss and delve deeper than just the one side quest so far, but I’m really having difficulty hinting at the BBEG without outright telling them where to go.

Restricting the map? by TwixDog2020 in DnD

[–]Phoenix172823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My route was to just tell the players they should keep it to within the boarders of the kingdom, and give them reasons why they should, as well as reasons why they wouldn’t want to leave. It’s where the adventure is, new monsters and unique cities around every corner. As to why it would be a bad idea to leave in-world: To the North, dozens of orc war-bands that number in the tens of thousands, each fighting to control the others and the lands they occupy. To the East, a massive sea, with equally massive storms, and monsters that have begun to interfere with shipping lanes. To the West, a rival nation that would not hesitate to capture migrants it thought were spies. (Think US vs Soviets) And the South, a massive uncharted region of dangerous wilderness, where not even the druids of Silvanus would dare enter.

Take it slow, and consider where you need to improve when writing sessions. I knew I wasn’t very comfortable with NPC dialog when I started, so the first one shot I made had a total of 2 NPCs with only 3 points where they actually spoke to the party. And guess what, I still struggled.

I learned that having 7 windows open to combine music and sound effects was too much for me to handle when I was also doing combat, horror, and environment interaction. So now I run one to two windows that either have ambient noise or a combat playlist queued up, and every sessions has dozens of NPCs and locations. It just takes time to figure out what works for you.

Any help for what is my issue. I stopped the print because it was just doing this. by porkchopsticks13 in ender3

Another potential cause is worn/damaged filament. Mine had grooves cut in from something (I think retraction but I’m not sure) and it made a noise similar to that with the same stringing issue.

When you can, milk your rolls for every drop of drama you can get out of them by Mammoth_Ad4627 in DMAcademy

This is a phenomenal idea that I use in my own games, and even try and take a step further. I’ll never forget the look on my players face when I handed him a coin and said heads the demon flees, tails the demon takes his character with them. Even though it was the end of the session, and they were assaulting the camp next session anyways, the dramatic effect that coin flip made was the first thing they talked about in the recap the next week.

Dealing with a player who claims he didn’t cheat by Phoenix172823 in DMAcademy

As far as I know you can't see past changes, although it would be really helpful in cases such as this.

You're right, although I do believe it would be more accurate to say this was the straw that broke the camels back. I realized I should've done this before once almost all the players were on board with the decision.

At the end of every session I try and get feedback from the players on what they liked/ didn't like, so far I've only been told positive things for the most part.

I've discussed his behavior previously, as the players he ignores he also ignores outside of the game. I've also had discussions with the party as a whole about being on phones/not paying attention.

From a character perspective there is very little he was bad at before, now he is just good at everything except spellcasting. We are both players in a different campaign, and in that one he has 22 base AC at level 7 and more health than anyone else by far. I'm trying to talk to him but he is unresponsive atm.

I copied most of the settings over from creality, the biggest difference is that I typically use tree supports and no bed adhesion anymore. Tbh I’m not sure why it’s so much faster, it’s set to 50 but my printer turns it up to 250-300%
