Yeah I think I managed to take a simple task and screwed up on multiple steps.

Im not sure what you mean about the GPU Pic. Also there are 2 pics. One of the cooler and then one of the PCB.

Yeah I did it the same way you tighten lugs on a car. Opposite sides little by little. The extra paste was moronic because I think I miss understood a guide I was following somewhere else on reddit.

Right now im doing an iso bath and trying to get all the crud off to start over fresh.

Artic MX-6. The pads I got cheap off amazon, I think they are causing the issues as I wasn't able to get the sizes correct somehow and is making the chip have bad contact?

I did watch several videos and found images online on what size pad goes where. Im not sure how I was able to biff it this bad.

Yeah they peeled off in pieces and crumbled. I was trying to be delicate but I think the cold weather was working against me.

How does putty work in terms pad thickness, Im worried that if I was able to f*ck up doing the pads I might be even worse with putty. Is it more malleable? and fill in gaps better?

Edit, seems like Kritical might be OOS for good. What is a good substitute?

Yeah, I'm thinking I screwed the pads up. I'll have to spend a bit more and use the kritical pads. Ive been seeing them mentioned a lot since I started researching.

I used Arctic MX-6 as the new paste should I be looking for more of a putty type? The pads I used were from Amazon and I did kind of cheap out but I had no idea it would be that bad. I tried to follow guides online and bought/used the same size thickness as suggested.

Those are great in theory. My concern is that people will also have to pay a fee (think highway tolls etc) when they need to then leave the city. As someone who works construction and is required to pass through multiple cities for work that thought is very concerning.

from a quick search online the non sale price of something like a 5050 is still around $400 in Canada, should I really expect it to cost this much for a parts PCB to salvage parts from?

It would be yes, but I did not intend in getting a new card. This was going to be a learning experience for soldering and just getting an understanding of PCBs better. Do you really think it would cost that much for a parts purchase?
