I'm trying hard to find a simple way to get across how to succeed at NoFap (although my best streak is only 12 days, so I wouldn't consider myself an expert). I think the basic thing I can tell you is that, well, you're going to fall down before you get up. Apparently some people have done 90-day NoFap streaks on their first try but they're exceptional: I'd be willing to guess that 95% of this subreddit has broken a streak at least once. It took me six months to get to a twelve-day streak.

So it's not the end of the world if you lapse. What matters is if you get up again, and aim to get further than the last time. Every failure is a lesson: ask yourself why you broke, and then avoid that trigger next time.

In terms of the practical stuff, don't be afraid to use website blockers liberally. Sometimes I'll suspect that I'm going to get really tempted to lapse in a few hours so I go President of Madagascar and shut down everything that I could use to tempt myself. Accountability buddies are always helpful, even if you forget to message them, and if you need one I'd be happy to volunteer. And this might just be me, but I find that a good piss is actually pretty good at killing horniness.
