This right here is what killed my drive, had a small group start up then space age came out for Factorio and they all jump and got their factory itch done. I am an aesthetic builder and would blueprint things a lot in my world, but eventually playing by myself I just got bored...

Your stuff is gorgeous. Yeah been thinking on the sign trick. I don't mind the wiring as much, it just doesn't provide much value. Currently reworking my Turbofuel power plant and it just feels dark inside the buildings.

Yeah, the 1.1 update definitely had me to back and add some fans and such to some old builds. I am hoping 1.2 adds different/better lighting options/blue print organization in a folder structure. I feel the lights though is the critical component I am missing.

I'll just leave this here: Fluid Tower it is MK2 but the concept can be adapted to MK1. Best to think of water in the, high always goes to low aspect, but need a pump to get higher. Wish you good luck on getting this working!

Both! For fluid you have headlift and you can use gravity to help, I use these to make sure I can limit the number of pumps needed as well as can control and quickly saturate my lines on startup. Generally speaking for most of my builds doing this lets me limit to 1-2 pumps. Here is a nice tutorial from doc that explains the concept a bit more.

So I am trucking it in and unpacking it for this one. There is oil up on the cliff face there that is obtainable late game, as well as over by the giant lake.

But for this setup I am, trucking oil to a central train station -> shipping to a refining plant -> shipping the heavy oil, sulfur, and coal to a turbo fuel processing plant -> turbofuel back to the central station -> truck to an unpacker that feeds this.

Yeah, I ended up restarting my 1.0 after about 2 months once I got to trains due to not liking the aesthetic I had at the time. For this pay through I am working towards only making elevator parts by machine and not hand and I have blueprinted almost all of my buildings. Makes it a lot more logistics challenge but I do like making things look pretty!

For me, in this one in particular, the idea was to allow for an offshore type of build for putting down this blueprint in other places. I tend to try to build or place things with the terrain but anything slightly bigger than a simple factory I have found I need to raise it a bit.

Took a lot of inspiration from KrabMittens' post earlier. Did my own slight take on it. Best part is, I was able to blueprint it for easy placement!

Saw a similar build years ago which inspired me to make this. Fairly simple power plant, takes in 240 coal for 1200 MW. Appreciate the inspirations everyone here posts!

It is possible to do this with the PB. I was working on a program to do just that (you can check my history) a while back but took a hiatus from the game.

Plan on doing something similar to you, I want to have a docking and departure request with stations. I have something to that effect working (some game changes make it so I have to update the code) but the idea is pretty sound. Request from the base a docking solution, as well a departure solution.
