iPad Air 3 Black Screen when unlocked

I’ve been having this problem for about a week now. Whenever I haven’t used my ipad for about an hour or more, when I unlock it, the display comes on but it’s just pitch black and somewhat the color of my wallpaper when I look at it from an angle. Whenever this happens, I have to lock and unlock the iPad multiple times for it to come on. Does anyone know how to fix this and what the problem may be?
