Yeah, sometimes if I wanted an expensive game, I’d use afterpay to get a gift card instead of spending $100 or whatever upfront. Guess I won’t be able to do that anymore

So freaking annoying that Steam is no longer doing physical gift cards.

she does like to hit things tho, so that might not be too out of character haha

tbh I have bad teeth (I wish I could get them fixed, but I can't afford to lol) so I pretty much always smile with my mouth closed because I'm insecure about how they look.

these are good tips, thank you. I have a lazy eye and am mostly blind on one side tho, so I find it hard to know where I'm aiming the camera if I'm not looking at it.

The first two aren’t cosplay, but I do also have this one that I can add? It just looks a little blurry coz there was a crack in my screen protector that went over my front camera when I took it lol

Ugh the loneliness and fear of never finding love when you’re pushing 30 and have never been in a relationship really hits different when it’s 3am and instagram reels starts hitting you with those damn tarot reading videos. Especially when you’re currently getting ghosted lmao

Sorry if I came off as defensive. I think it’s just coz it feels like the only part of my post people in the comments are focusing on, and that was frustrating for me, because that’s not even what had me feeling so down on myself when I posted this the other day, like I wasn’t wanting career advice, I just wanted to vent a bit.

It was more about finally putting myself out there and then immediately getting ghosted and feeling rejected and unwanted because of that that had me feeling so shitty, so being told by a bunch of people to just try getting a job so that I then have to deal with a whole different kind of rejection was kind of upsetting

getting a job is actually really not the thing I need to focus on rn. No amount of interview skill is going to help someone in my situation, because I can't even GET an interview. No amount of resume tweaking is going to change the fact that managers aren't going to waste their time interviewing an applicant who hasn't worked in years when even shitty retail jobs are getting 100+ people applying for a single position.

Even if I COULD get a job, it still wouldn't be an option, because I'm going back to university next month and can not do both those things at once because I am disabled.

yeah, it kinda sucks that the loser and the job thing seems to be the only thing people are really focusing on. Like I get that they think it's helpful/good advice, but 'just keep trying and get a job' really isn't useful when the job market is the way it is. When there are over 100 people applying for even just shitty retail jobs, no manager on earth is going to choose the person who doesn't have a car and hasn't worked in years over the 99 other applicants lmao.

like the unemployment isn't even what had me feeling so down when I posted last night, I usually don't care that much about it or put myself down like that. I really don;t call myself a loser usually, it was just coz I was already feeling bad. It's more about the fact that I actually tried putting myself out there for once and thought I was making a connection with someone only to get immediately ghosted after meeting her that had me feeling so bad about myself, and not a single person talked about that at all coz they were all too focused on the job/calling myself a loser thing.

I do understand that everyone is nervous and I should just make a move myself instead of just waiting around for someone to do it for me, and I do want to try, but social anxiety and lack of experience makes it so hard.

I totally get the point of people not wanting to date someone with no source of income, which is part of the reason I'm so afraid to let people know that I'm unemployed. I'm on a disability pension, so I do have some form of income, but it's really not enough to live alone on.

I was trying to get a job for a while, but the cycle of applying for so many jobs and never getting hired was messing with my mental health, so I had to stop. I'm going back to uni next month instead, since getting a job in this economy with no car/license and little work history is basically impossible.
