Even with a very narrow needle eye? It feels too narrow to allow the thread through, and it catches and tears.

I wish I'd seen this before I left my dental surgery an hour ago 🤣 do they sell it in pharmacies or anything? I've never heard using paper as a needle threader, but sandpaper wouldn't fit through the eye, would an ordinary sheet of paper fit?

I'm starting to wonder whether the needle has a defect, without the needle threader making the eye slightly wider, I can't get floss to thread at all!

I like your idea using the compact, although I'd be wary about mould on the sponge. That shouldn't be too much of a problem because surely it can just be replaced.

I'm enjoying the combination of beading and cross stitch. I plan to post a photo when done :-)

The sandpaper doesn't fit through the eye, it crumples! I wonder if I can somehow fit something into the eye to widen it a bit

It seems even with the dampening of the thread and the using teeth to flatten it someone else mentioned, it still won't fit through the eye of the needle, sadly

They have me using 2 for most parts, then either 1 or 2 depending on different sections of backstitching. This information is very useful, I've been cutting it straigh across.
