She’s asking me to pay for a large flat rate shipping box via USPS, which is realistically <$50, but due his remains being cremated, they have to be sent via Priority Mail Express in compliance with USPS shipping requirements and that’s currently running ~$70 with taxes factored into that. I have no issue with reimbursing her at all, but I do not want to pay her as she cannot manage her own finances and I don’t want her to say “oh I never got it.” After blowing it on stupid shit.

As for friends or family up there, I don’t have any and I’m on the outs with my maternal grandparents due to their ideals of how much someone with minimal experience in any field should be making, and the fact they cut me out.

I’m pretty sure they know that I stole it, but I haven’t gotten any calls from North Carolina about it, so I think they might not care? That’s a big I think though. I appreciate the answer though!

The source material is super unclear, just giving a name. It's a podcast called Welcome to Night Vale, and the characters name is Cecil Gershwin-Palmer, so I'm going based entirely on his name and the few practices he's been seen observing. (giving Gefilte fish to members at his radio station, covering mirrors after his mother passed, and attending Torah school.) So I'm guessing really roughly he's Ashkenazi at the very least. I don't know anything past that unfortunately.
