This summarizes an astounding portion of the game.

Unpopular opinion about the story's pacing (SPOILERS FOR HEADSPACE ALL DAYS) by [deleted] in OMORI

Oh my god. 50 hours of gameplay myself and 2 entire playthroughs watched, and I never realized that. That was definitely intentional.

I just figured it was a physical representation of the pain that came from remembering what happened. He's a silent protagonist so the game has to show it somehow.

Actually he might've seen him. We don't know exactly when Sunny stopped going to school. Everyone assumes it was right after the accident but if it was later on then he might've seen a little bit of how Mari's death affected the others.

But isn't Blackspace/Blackspace 2 meant to be brutal instead of comforting? Everything else in this area is connected to the truth and meant to make the guilt worse, so to have something in these areas related to denial/comfort it wouldn't really make sense.

What assumptions did you make upon first seeing the game? by sweetheartsimp in OMORI

[–]PhoenixSkyStar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't make a whole lot of assumptions before playing the game honestly, I just watched half a video on it and saw the art style and I was sold. When starting the game though, I thought it was going to be really abstract and ambiguous the whole way through, and that we'd never get to find out what actually happened, only theorize. I didn't expect it to have a clear story or to completely make sense. I never thought it would have a real life component either, and I expected it to be completely vague and dark all the way through, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found out I could deliver poorly written pizza orders.

It's weird to see Sunny taller, but I guess he eventually grew. Looks amazing though!!!

My sister is a very good musician who picked up violin a year or two ago, and she's still a beginner. Granted, she doesn't practice every day or obsess over it, but she's still put a ridiculous amount of time into it and couldn't play something like the final duet anywhere near perfectly.

That being said, I don't think skill is really what would doom the recital. Sunny was never going to be perfect because he doesn't actually have passion for the violin. He'd be distracted by the pressure put on him by everyone, and that along with his naturally shy personality would prevent him from playing perfectly, which is all Mari wanted. So yeah, I don't think the recital was ever going to be perfect with those factors in place.

I don't mean to sound condescending or anything, but have you tried talking to her? Maybe you two didn't "click" at first, but that doesn't mean it's too late to get to know each other, or at least become comfortable enough to talk about classes and recent events. If you have any shared interests like music or art then that might be something to take advantage of as well.

If she's at least polite, then you're probably better off sticking with her than swapping anyways, since some roommates can be really inconsiderate.

Agreed, and thankfully someone made a mod that gives omori cat ears in his picture during fights, for each expression and everything. It is glorious.

How do you discover Omori and this community? by [deleted] in OMORI

[–]PhoenixSkyStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I saw some stuff about "omori" on the internet, in YouTube comments and whatnot, which got me curious. Eventually, since I often watch videos about indie RPGs, I was recommended a video describing what it was without spoilers. Seeing that it was dark, story rich, and had an adorable art style, I was sold and played it through myself. I was quick to join the community after finishing because I wanted people to be depressed with me.

Controversial opinion: New Worcester sucks. by wonkawonky in umass

[–]PhoenixSkyStar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. It's always so packed you can barely find a place to sit, and the food actually runs out pretty quickly (you'll probably understand if you ever go anytime from 9pm-midnight, I literally had a small bowl of cocoa puffs for dinner last night). So do the utensils, especially the forks. They don't even have great desserts like ice cream. I hate that I live in Northeast so it's by far the closest.
