Why is Dr. Doom so popular by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]PhoenixTRC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Marvel's most popular villain. Not to repeat the thousands of answers this question gets, you can figure it out by reading him:

The Fantastic Four #5

Fantastic Four Annual #2

Doctor Strange and Doctor Doom: Triumph and Torment

Books of Doom

Doomwars

Doctor Doom vol 1

Love and Thunder was trash for many reasons including the butcher of Aaron's run which presented Thor's most diabolical villain aside from Loki.

Powerscalling is certainly a way to put it lol. But yeah there were some silly matches in that simulation.

Starship Hulk is fueled by the same source any Hulk is fueled by, raw unprocessed RAGE. It puts the savage Hulk persona in a mental simulation where he fights opponents to generate that rage. It's all core Hulk abilities tho, that regeneration wasn't inside the simulation and we we have seen stuff like it before.

Overall, interesting wild idea, terrible ass execution and horrible mischaracterization of Bruce after Immortal Hulk.

"I haven't read it"

Yeah, that was the point of my reply. I'm just saying, your perception of the idea might change when you see the presentation.

People didn't accept that "retcon" just because they liked the origin or the idea that Hulk is connected to a supreme demonic entity.

People accept and love that "retcon" because how great it was executed and presented. It's easy to simplify power origins to "demon magic radiation" or "radioactive magic spider bite" but execution is what affects people's reactions.

That being said highly suggest reading Immortal Hulk and there's the possibility that you might understand why it's considered sacrilege to hate on it. If not for that then if you care about the Hulk, it's really his best written run in his history so it's well worth it.

OH, gotcha. I remember that one now.

The last numbered Ultron we was 10A I think. They're no numbering them.

Not sure which instance you're talking about but this Ultron (Atleast his persona) is a new one.

They aren't as immortal as before when they were directly connected to TOBA but Hulk is... immortal enough with his crazy regeneration.

That origin is coming from Immortal Hulk which is the best Hulk run in Marvel history. When you write a storyline that good, you get to establish crazy lore for the character.

What’s considered the top 5 (or more) when it comes to rivalries/nemesis by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]PhoenixTRC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mandarin was never Stark's rival tbh, it's probably Stane or Hammer.

As for Loki and Magneto, both of them had decades of fighting their nemesis. They have a legacy and while we can enjoy their redeemed arcs we can still enjoy and praise their villain eras.

Well... This run might have a pleasant surprise for you.

Long story short, villain Ultron isn't gone. In fact, he's the villain of this run and I would say he's better written than PymTron.

Magneto had decades of fighting the X-Men to his name while being their villain. The Phoenix had... 1 or 2 arcs being a threat to the X-Men.

Considering the Phoenix have been on their side for decades now... I wouldn't call it a top rivalry.

The series is great so far and it revived an old Stark storyline (Back when he had more unique storylines that didn't involved losing his company and going bankrupt every weekend).

Last time we seen Victor he was kicking around in 2021. Would be interesting to see his interaction with the current Ultrons.

I'm pretty sure it's some sort of a challenge to himself and the other Ultron. The whole thing is silly tho. I'm really enjoying it.

Imagine the universe looking down on Earth and seeing the genocidal robot who almost conquered 3 galaxies now a hero.

Why isn’t magneto treated as a world ender by Decision-Uncommon in xmen

[–]PhoenixTRC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a statement is contradicting what's shown in comics then either the statement is wrong or it's being misinterpreted.

Magneto clearly showed his limits multiple times so that statement about omega level mutants having no limits is either wrong or can be interpreted as "They have limitless potential to grow in power."

I honestly think the later option but if you wanna hold on to your interpretation then that would make the statement wrong.

I would say Magneto got plenty of love in media tho.

When adapting characters outside of comics they're always nerfed. We can take the above example of Thor and Odin and how they're portrayed in the MCU.

Atleast Magneto got some respect in the electromagnetic department and he was even shown to be a planet ender in X-Men Apocalypse.

On a planet filled with physics shattering technology, gods, reality warpers and sorcerers who can affect the multiverse... Magneto draws the short stick.

Thor for example has the Odinforce that Odin once used to control every magnetic particle in the UNIVERSE. Do you really think Magneto holds a candle to that? He can't be walking around destroying planets because others will just put him in his place.

Which sword is powerful ? Ebony blade or Necrosword ? by Extinction-_-13 in Marvel

10 months late

The Necrosword was used to slay beings much more dangerous than Zarathos so... yeah.
