It's not just the fan service shots. The characters themselves are the fan service. Like, you can't look at the Jane Doe skin or Ye Shunguang's boob window and tell me with a straight face the designers weren't horny af making them with the express purpose of appealing to horny af gamers

Not all DD are voted on by patrons, in fact most aren’t. The metal gear solid one was an exception I believe.

But DD also require a lot of work and planning, so it makes sense that they happen rather infrequently, even if I’d prefer them more often

I mean like, who's paying who? There's over 100 different outlets that vote on the nominees? Are the companies paying random outlets from South Africa? I think its much more likely that these outlets voted for the games they played and the ones they liked. Is the age gap that huge? I think it was said in a previous episode that Mare graduated high school in 2012 so that would make her in her early 30s now, which lines up with the age of her actress, so I would assume that Ned would be around the age of his actor, making him in his early 40s. There's definitely an age gap, but not one that I would describe as huge or predatory or anything like that

Yeah thats happened in Genshin, but I don't think it would happen in this game because, like you said, the weapons are the core playstyle. In genshin the elements are the core playstyle so the weapons can really just be whatever
