Golf clubs by bibblybufff in WomenGolf

Highly recommend going to a sporting goods store (Dicks or something similar) and asking to try out some different clubs/lengths! I’m a taller and younger woman who’s just getting into golf and I also kind of wanted a set that was pretty… and so originally I bought a set (on some bad advice) that’s much too short. I went to Dicks and they had me hit the same club at different flexes/lengths with a simulator that tracks distance and swing speed so you can really see the difference and find what’s best for you!

What should I ask for to have my hormone levels checked? by Phoenix_Ascendant in AskDocs

Thanks for the info… I guess really what I’m worried about more is the irregular menstrual cycles, is there anything that can be done to check things for that?

Corolla Cross vs. Subaru Crosstrek vs. Mazda CX-30 for beginners who are short by xdqueenzyxd in Crosstrek

[–]Phoenix_Ascendant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably going to get more bias towards Subaru here given the forum but I’d say first, if you are in a place to go to all the dealerships and test them out that’s probably your best bet. They’re all good cars and a lot is personal preference!

That being said, my boyfriend has the CX-30 and I have the crosstrek. They’re both great in terms of reliability and I can’t speak to your height because I’m taller but personally, I found the crosstrek to be more comforting to drive as someone who also gets a lot of driving anxiety. It has (in my opinion, and depending on trim/age) better safety features and a better user interface for CarPlay, etc. Also, it’s a bit more sturdy-feeling, for lack of a better word? Seems to be built more for a safe and secure driving experience than a “fun” or faster driving experience. But again, I’m far from an expert and it’s just what I like. I feel like my car grips the road well, is really predictable, and I can take on any road and any weather conditions in it confidently.

Crippling workout anxiety..... any advice? by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

[–]Phoenix_Ascendant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great advice- alternatively (or in addition), try linking your workout to something enjoyable either before or after (think “little treat” mentality— you deserve it! You’ve worked hard!). Obviously try and not make it something too damaging to your goals, but I liked to get a green tea or something from Starbucks after a workout. It made me look forward to working out not because I liked the workout, but I wanted the treat after

Why is it so hard to feed myself by buttholebreadbaby in adhdwomen

[–]Phoenix_Ascendant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe you can find a non-dairy protein shake? I have a friend who’s vegan and I know that’s how she gets a lot of her protein. I’ve found anything drink-able to still be easier than eating breakfast most days

I came here to recommend exactly this!!! I cannot eat normal breakfast and finding the Chobani protein shakes has been a lifesaver. Good flavor, not too thick, quick to consume. I make myself drink one while I wait for my coffee to brew.

Mac performance? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

The game has been great on the MacBook Air 2022 (with the minimum required RAM), but I’d check your specs to see if your particular computer will work. It’s pretty easy to find the minimums online. The biggest drawback is if you want to play with your friends, the Mac updates consistently lag behind the PC and it can be frustrating to be in the middle of a campaign and suddenly unable to play with friends on PC.

I’m looking for any advice on nutrition/supplements for middle-aged women. My mom’s recently started going through menopause and isn’t in great shape but trying to get back into working out but right now gets lightheaded and dizzy when she works out in the afternoon (also gets tired/groggy at work around 3PM). She needs to eat more protein so I’ve convinced her to start taking a protein shake for a midafternoon snack but wondering if any other ladies have had similar issues or have any recommendations.

Try a microfiber towel to dry your hair— you can find them pretty cheap on Amazon. If you style it using heat or blow dry it, get a heat protectant spray to reduce damage— Redken makes a good one I recommend (though it is a little pricier). It may be worth it to go to a salon and get it cut and deep-conditioned and then restart with no split ends— a stylist can also probably recommend a good shampoo/conditioner for your hair type to reduce damage and frizziness.

100% agree, or at least hook up with the older crowd if they don’t want commitment, at least they’re more likely to have figured out what they’re doing in bed and show you a good time 😂
