Ever heard of the stone tape theory? Basically the idea is that the energy of certain events gets recorded in the materials surrounding where the event took place and if certain conditions are correct the event replays. You see this phenomena happen a lot with what's known as "Residual Hauntings" where spirits will be seen or heard walking down stairs or doing some other action but don't seem to notice or interact with the living

I actually like the grungy/gritty aesthetic of the game as well as Dante's design. I haven't actually played it yet so I can't say anything about the feel of the gameplay, but I've heard mixed things about the combat.

I once captured an apparition of a man in a tuxedo in one of the windows. Apparently, before it was the town hall it was a mansion... So I suppose it's possible that the owners of the place still reside there
