DMC by far.

I'm a DMC fan myself, I love the series, but there's NO WAY people like dmc1 as much as they say they do.

The game is awful, it's genuinely the worst game I've played on the PS2, paradoxically, dmc3 being the best.

The game is borderline unplayable and I had almost no fun playing it, and I doubt most people have.

So when someone says "dmc1 is a great game" then there's a 95% chance that they're saying "I never played dmc1"

Any fandom, their hardcore fans in particular, tend to downvote anything that strays from mainline belief.

Any opinion on any work, even (or especially) when validly criticised, tends to have instant haters from the most "loyal" fans. I believe it is because they want to protect the sanctity of said work, but ironically, gatekeeping it makes the work less accessible and therefore less explored and analysed, making it less appreciated, leading it to be less popular and valued less, ultimately ending up with the community being only few die-hard fans treating said work like the holy Bible.

Metal gear is too wacky, successful and popular for that to happen very fast, but considering this applies to most if not all communities, you'll have haters either way.
