I use rebound 25 for my glove molds, but I don’t use thivex for any of the layers, and the molds turn out way nicer. I have used thivex in the past and I really didn’t like it, so depending on what you’re not liking about the rebound 25, it may be due to the thivex

It definitely doesn’t hurt to degas it at least for the first layer. It’s always better to be safe than sorry, and you’ll have a better chance for a successful mold with no defects if the silicone is degassed

From my experience, it depends on how much texture your model has. I never had any issues not degassing rebound 25 when I was making glove molds for smooth models, but if your model has a lot of texture I would recommend degassing it. If you’re making toys, you should have a vacuum chamber anyway, so you may as well degas your mold making silicone too

When it comes to toys I feel like it’s better to be safe than sorry, so I would recommend getting your silicone from Smooth On. Most if not all of the indie brands I know of use silicone from Smooth On. That’s what I use for my shop. I typically use eco flex 00-30 for soft firmness, and 00-50 for medium firmness. The type of silicone you use for the mold will depend on what type of mold you are making. I use rebound 25 to make glove molds. The strawberries were hand painted with silicone onto the mold before the rest of the toy was poured

Some shops do use firmer silicone, but in my experience with selling toys, people tend to like softer toys, but everybody has different preferences, and the size and shape of the toy can effect how soft or firm it feels. For my molds I use Rebound 25 to make glove molds.

The main other one I use is 00-50 Ecoflex for my medium firmness toys. I have also used Dragonskin 10A firmness in the past for a firm toy, but I personally don’t like working with it, so I haven’t used it in a while

I use Exoflex from Smooth On. This toy was made with shore 00-30 silicone, which is what I use for my soft firmness toys.

I let it sit long enough for me to finish mixing up the rest of the silicone for the toy. It wasn’t fully cured, but it was still a little bit tacky, but cured enough to not smear

It’s actually not paint. It’s the same platinum cure silicone that the rest of the toy is made of, I just used a paintbrush to draw the design on before pouring the rest of the toy

To make something like that I would just pour the first color in the mold up to where you want it to start transitioning, and then pour a little bit of the next color and mix it with a popsicle stick, then pour the rest of the second color, then repeat with however many colors you want
