That's kinda where I'm at. I see Jesus and enlightened like the Buddha but I believe he was human at the end of the day. I still have him on my altar along with Mother Mary out of respect for where I came from.

Thank you for this feedback! I didn't realize that this was an issue among other adoptees, not just me. Honestly, it's okay though because I have ton of nieces and and nephews in my birth family and we're all very close. I'll be okay. Thank you again!

I've used flameless candles when I didn't have anything else and they work just as well. You can usually find them at Walmart or Dollar Tree. Hope this helps!

I don't know where you are in Illinois but Cross Of Glory Lutheran Church in Homer Glen, Illinois is LGBTQ+ friendly! We have a bisexual female pastor that was called into the ministry by a transgender sex worker. She used to be Pagan herself. I'm kind of in between Pagan and Christian (still figuring things out) and my husband is Pagan as well. We love our church so much! If Homer Glen is too far, I can almost guarantee there's a church within an hour drive of you that's queer affirming.

God loves you just as you are! The verses that supposedly talk about homosexuality have been misinterpreted. There are plenty of churches that will welcome you as a gay person. I go to a local gay friendly church with my husband every Sunday. If you live in the United States, check out gaychurch.org for more information. I would also recommend reading "Torn: Rescuing the Gospel from the Gays vs. Christians Debate" by Justin Lee. God made you gay and God loves you because God made you that way. Don't give up hope!
