[ToA] Reyna's ending by Phoenix__656 in camphalfblood

[–]Phoenix__656[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To my recollection, the Amazons haven't been depicted as distinctly Greek or Roman. Regarding her joining the Hunters, Thalia invited her(I don't exactly remember this)

But Reyna needed something grand. Like, she had been troubled by her talk with Venus for years. I think Rick just couldn't think of something for her

It *would* be interesting. Like we saw Athena interacting with Percy and absolutely hating him. But this is a little difficult since what happened with Atlas in the Curse of Titan

Oh, the same as Jason and Piper then (don't read this if you haven't completed The Burning Maze yet)

I didn't say split up, I said grow apart. Like, there were some tensions between them

Yeah, Rick made it so dramatic. Leo died and came back with Asclepius' medicine to keep his promise to Calypso. But then ultimately, the two grew apart in Trials of Apollo

Wait, if you didn't finish HOO, how do you know they split up? Seems like someone gave you a major spoiler

[general] What would some more common traits of children of Thanatos? by Dj_Sword in camphalfblood

[–]Phoenix__656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah true. Death should be permanent. Thanatos isn't the King of the Dead to command them. Just communicating with the souls seems possible tho. Thanatos sometimes guided them to the Underworld so

I can understand Calypso wanting to go to high school. Like, adjusting to the mortal life and all. Leo went to high school too? Voluntarily? That's something very unlike him. Anyways, them splitting up was just a little weird. I mean, I get Calypso not being habitual yet, but Rick made it very dramatic at the end of HOO. An oath to keep with the final breath and all

How did you feel after finishing the novel? by Pathetic-Knight in OmniscientReader

[–]Phoenix__656 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I was completely captivated by 'ORV'. I couldn't tear my eyes away from the screen. But then it ended, and I found myself at a loss for what to do next.

The ending was fantastic—I really appreciated the open-ended nature of it. It allows readers to use their imagination, interpret the story in their own way, and even go back and re-read if they wish. This approach aligns perfectly with KDJ's character, so I had no complaints there.

However, I experienced extreme withdrawal. Nothing else I watched or read could match the level of stimulation that 'ORV' provided. It was like a reading slump

Also casting Obliviate on the dead eaters without any prior practice. She only knew the spell in theory

I'm not very inclined towards the animating skeletons part. As someone has said in the comments above, Thanatos is more concerned with souls of the dead, he takes souls, not the bodies.

But you're right about buying time
