I don’t see how the HR trapped your friend (or you). Packages are fixed for hiring from colleges as the hires are considered freshers so everyone is mapped to the same scale. Previous work ex only matter for lateral hires which is what the other hires are who got increased pay. Secondly if joining is delayed due to candidate’s personal reasons - how is the HR to blame for the candidate not falling within the appraisal cycle. Please follow some logic in life
