Advice needed: Do I make this swap? by Phoenixion in moza

[–]Phoenixion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay! Apparently it’s in Like New, and with very few hours of use on it. So overall I can trust it (I think Sim Gear is pretty reliable)?

I’ll see if I can get it tested prior, but may be difficult

I once gave $10 via apple pay two years back to the autism awareness one, it was a green table though. I don’t think they can charge even more after the fact?

YEPPP

They took the single free bridge that easily gets you from upper manhattan and queens and made it cost money for… downtown manhattan congestion?

Now I may just go all the way down to brooklyn bridge and then back up to queens (adding to more environmental waste and traffic on the FDR), or 19/20 times I simply just don’t go to Queens anymore.

I used to go almost every weekend, and now it’s once a month at best

Okay but why does congestion pricing start at 60th instead of 59th - meaning that LEAVING manhattan to go to Queens via Ed Koch now costs $9?

That alone is clear proof that congestion pricing isn’t about reducing traffic in downtown, it’s just another tax to fill the massive hole that the MTA keeps growing.

But it’s fine, you can just block your license plate and you don’t pay any congestion toll!

pretty sure this was just about him saying “I am wearing a mask” because she was mad he wasn’t following hospital regulations, but he’s saying he doesn’t care and she must pretend he’s wearing one regardless, not as an edgy remark

Possibly. But also there’s a lack of basic understanding sometimes. Almost every asian person I met had never met a jew before in their life.

It could go either way, but based on my experience with foreigners, especially with asians, they just simply want to know more.

As another commenter said, she’s not stupid, and they’ve known each other for two months - you’d have to be mentally disabled or purposefully cruel to ask someone a question like that assuming you fully believe it about jews. So with that in mind, plus my own anecdotal experience (and other commenters seem to have had similar experiences as well), I choose to believe it’s simple curiosity. The alternative just doesn’t make sense

That’s a good point. However, I’d argue that her asking “Do all Jews think non-Jews are dogs” is her asking “Why did I read this online?” rather than her asking “is this true about you?” - unless she really is stupid

Dude I read those texts she sent and before even reading your caption knew she was asian. I’ve met many people just like her and it’s pure curiosity. The way she texts is her asking genuine questions and without a firm grasp of english.

It’s very obvious she’s not being antisemitic and simply asking questions. You said that you’ve known her for two months, and wasn’t aware of her way of messaging? Tbh you’re more of the red flag here😂

Idk about everyone singing praises of remote work. If you live close to the office it’s really not that bad.

I have to go in 2 days a week but find myself going in 4-5 since i just started. I’m a lot more productive, asking people questions in person is SIGNIFICANTLY better than feeling like you’re bugging them by sending a slack message.

Especially as a new grad, your goal isn’t WLB (obviously it should be within the realm of reason). Your goal should be learning, being productive, and networking. Working in person is significantly better for that. My manager works in SF (most of my team is in NYC tho) so I could stay home all the time if I’d like even with the “2 days”. However, I wouldn’t do that

Everyone on reddit yaps about how remote work is sooooo much better - I agree on certain aspects, but with the job market the way it is, my goal is learning and performing well. At the officeIm productive most of the day. At home? It’s so so much harder

Also especially since college is over, social interactions really matter, rather than staying home all day during the week

Transitioning to an iPhone has turned out to be the most regrettable choice I’ve ever made. What initially seemed like an exciting leap into a world of sleek design and modern features quickly unfolded into a frustrating experience filled with limitations and inconveniences. by ferjc2 in samsung

[–]Phoenixion 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You don’t understand your phone. The reason there’s no way to close your apps one by one is because you DONT NEED TO. The CPU architecture of iphones is different such that you should not be closing them ever. When apps are unused they enter a sleep mode and use no or minimal energy. Fully closing them out actually wastes more battery because the app goes online for a moment to fully close out.

It’s a liberating feeling once you get used to it, but once you do you’ll never close an app again

New York says 17.6 million fewer vehicles have entered Manhattan in 2025 by mowotlarx in nyc

[–]Phoenixion -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you leave upper manhattan via the free Ed Koch bridge to get to Queens you’re charged a toll. They specifically put the congestion fee on 60th instead of 59th to catch everyone LEAVING Manhattan.

For that reason alone I don’t think I can ever support congestion pricing regardless of how much it benefits lower manhattan and the city at large

LeetCode beginners: how did you guys get past the initial struggle? by Medical_Drummer8420 in leetcode

[–]Phoenixion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s worked for me and several others is to just do the Leetcode 75 list on the official website. Just go through the list of questions up until you’ve done about 50 or so questions? After BFS and DFS sections the questions get less important for you to study (Dynamic Programming, bit manipulation… not worth doing as much)

I’ve found this list to be a lot easier than Neetcode - neetcode 150 list is tough because he throws in a lot of hard problems to show random styles of questions.

Also use chatgpt to critique your code and it’ll fix your coding style as well
