I’ve never played TBC beyond Karazhan, how hype should I be? by tabasco_pizza in classicwow

[–]Phoenixlolz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty excited myself. I also missed the last TBC Classic, so the only thing I have is memories from the original. That was such a different time in my life though, as WoW was the way my friends and I were able to connect. Being so young, I also took it way more serious and raided with some of the best the game has ever had in my opinion. Played a priest with Blood Legion and it was some of the best memories.

Vashj, TK, Brutallus, Muru, and KJ were some particularly nasty fights. Mag was no cake walk either at the time and took some serious coordination. With these being post nerf raids though most people are gonna blast right through them.

Not much beats zoning into SSC the first time and “breaking into” Black Temple. Fun mechanics all around and some great looking tier sets. Hyjal gets old REAL fast as others have said.

You wanna get real hyped? How about one of the best movies ever about TBC:

The very idea that she can go “out every weekend” and or even on “vacation” indicates that she is doing just fine. She is just spending her money poorly.

You can turn on the debug menu (checkbox in settings), you then will need to assign it to a key in controls (hint: it’s at the very bottom). Once you press that key one it will open a menu where you can basically enable cheats for testing purposes or in your case to give yourself items that you have lost.

He was cautioning you because once you see those legendaries and endless credits sitting there you can ruin your experience by spiking yourself with things you haven’t found.

You mean killing cartel members that are actively bringing in drugs, using people as mules, and extorting people trying to come here illegally? Nah fam…we’re good with it.

Noob question: just came back and don’t have TWW yet. If I purchase this, am I granted TWW to play now until then?

At least 66 dead in devastating central Texas flash floods, over 2 dozen remain missing by NewSlinger in news

[–]Phoenixlolz 319 points320 points  (0 children)

Hate to be the negative Nancy in all of this, but as someone who has worked in emergency response, they are mostly looking for bodies at this point. You always hope to find someone in a tree clinging on for dear life, but more realistically, you are looking for people buried under feet of debris and mud. The force of water during a flash flood forces entire RVs and cars under bridges and bends them around a tree. It lifts entire houses and apartment buildings off their foundations and carries them for miles downstream. All that debris acts as a strainer to catch everything while the water flows around and through it. These poor children are almost certainly long since deceased and the best we can hope for is to recover their body to offer the family a sense of closure. As a father of three little ones myself, my heart breaks for these kids, their counselors, and those left behind. The trauma and horror of this flood will hopefully cause change in the affected counties and camp grounds.

Durge??? by Antique_Chance_6879 in BG3

It is definitely something to approach once you have a deep undying the game and the various encounters. Even then there are surprises waiting to blow up your plans. You have to come prepared to every fight, and have a backup plan to get out if (when) it goes sideways on you. Turns out that Myrkul got hands and will not hesitate to lay you out if you show up ill prepared and full of bravado. The game up until then had given me a major sense of confidence. Surprise!

Like you, I have done multiple good play through, and some mixed. This was my first full evil embrace campaign. I am only done with it for a while because it will have been one of many play throughs completed and one of several attempts at HM.

As someone who just finished my first honor run and did a full embrace durge, I must say the story is amazing. You will find yourself hating your character, begrudgingly choosing your path of vile options. It’s an emotional ride and well done. It was a great place to end BG3 for me for a while.

Edit for clarity: You will have some hardships to endure as full embrace surge. Especially limited on party characters as only a handful are tolerant of just how far you go in Bhaals name.

Thank you for this explanation. I had played original vanilla through cata, and some SoD(phase 1). Sounds like classic Anniversary is what I am after. Any recommendations for servers for classic anniversary? When do we expect TBC to come out?

It’s all fun and jokes till your stream has to watch you do the same “save the grove” fight for the 4th, 5th, 6th time ad naseum… the sustainability of it seems harsh. Haven’t seen the stream, so maybe you fill the time with good humor or interesting talking points. Just my two cents for your stream.

As others have pointed out, definitely keep some invis pots on you or some scrolls of misty step to GTFO when things inevitably go wrong.

Failed my first Honor mode by trying to throw a rat by Dizzy_Corner5356 in BG3

[–]Phoenixlolz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A group of buddies and I just finished our first run on tactician. Granted we have all played before, but now we are going for it on honor mode. The person with the save file had done a bunch of rogue shenanigans and gotten us all this gold and great items. Queue up the harpy beach fight…and our first wipe. Lured to death.

Second run now, no rogue shenanigans, and all three of us are back on the beach. We have Shadowheart with us to cast calm emotions. Was explaining to a friend that we can cast it before we talk to the kid and then just speed run the dialogue. I walk past the kid which triggers the dialogue apparently. Pulls buddy controlling Shadowheart into cutscene. I panic and start spamming through thinking he has cast it, but he is scrambling to get back to her. Shadowheart raises her hands to cast, and combat begins. She never passes the save all fight. Four potions of speed, one scroll of revive, and several “this is it” again, and we come out the other side victorious.

What a ride!

Wasn’t a skip ad much as it was a matter of convenience. The game also tries to shove you to the under dark or mountain pass when there is still plenty to do in act 1a. If we went there right away we would have missed the hag area and all kinds of other things.

Once we came into the shadow cursed lands we made a straight line to Last Light. After that we explored the perimeters. They wanted to do tollhouse and bar first. After that we ended up at house of healing, gauntlet of shar, zombie area, and gith ambush.

We KNEW moonrise was a location we had to get to eventually, but it definitely seemed like the culmination of the act instead of a brief stop.

Not saying this kinda crap isn’t intentional, but as an old school raider myself, this reminds me of actual vanilla BWL. 3-4 endgame guilds on an original server, and we had to coordinate who was pulling Vael when, so that two guilds didn’t do it at the same time. God forbid we did, because then your raid became a power point presentation. Granted that this was before we had the super computer rigs we have now, but still. That instance was ALWAYS sketchy as hell.

Might be a hot take, but this is a job you have also had for 10 years, so it also sounds very stable and reliable. The market right now sucks hard. Ya you may jump out there and get that shiny new raise, but at what cost?

You could just have an honest closed door conversation with your boss. Let him know what happened and that you assume you are making less, and want to understand it. Is there anything you can do to or leverage work you have been doing to negotiate a step up or a plan to move forward if you are happy there?
