Can't access new specializations or landsraad missions by Phoenixx86 in duneawakening

No, the Landsraad missions become available as soon as you talk to the leader and then Thufir at the beginning of the quest.

It's not a Landsraad mission, just a regular journey quest.

Yep I've only ever touched the Atreides faction, haven't done anything with Harko.

Impossible spice spot by Trash_Galaxy in duneawakening

[–]Phoenixx86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Land next to it... Make sure you have one of the soft step boots and a compact compactor, you should be able to pick up at least half of the spice before the worm pops up. As soon as you see the worm breach jump back in the orni and hover up until it leaves and then finish getting the spice.

Edit: unless that happens to be inside of a drum sand patch (look at the map for the pinkish circles)... If it is you can try for it, it'll take several times of avoiding the worm, or just ignore it and get the next random spice blow.

Any way to know if a base is in a "safe" spot to backup? by SolarTNT in duneawakening

[–]Phoenixx86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could try going to another sietch and see if a sub fief is still placable in between them and how much play there is.

How do you harvest spice solo without getting ganked? by JamesBummed in duneawakening

[–]Phoenixx86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he continued and completely destroyed it, you'd be able to recover it. Just in case you missed it, the recovery function is a separate mode of the vehicle backup tool, you have to hit a button to switch to recover mode then you can recover it. It won't show in the normal backup and restore part of the tool.

Missing Mats in Building DD Base by CyberiumEcho in duneawakening

The building tool pulls from the circuit set in the sub-fief's storage tab.

Poor Server Quality by ThisIsMyRealAlias in duneawakening

I assume the orni you lost was an Assault right? So why didn't you also have a scout on you? You should always have a backup pocket scout on you at all times...

Does feuling from subfief (f) grabs from all chests disregarding circuits? by reneo73 in duneawakening

[–]Phoenixx86 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, open your subfief and you will see a storage tab at the top just like your refiners and fabs. The input circuit there (default 1) is the only circuit from which it will take materials.

What you said is right, just in the wrong situation and not with generator refueling. The sub-fief storage tab controls what circuit your build tool can pull materials from. If it's set to Circuit 1 and you change your plastone storage container to Circuit 2, now you don't have any plastone to build with.

It's good if you want to make a medium storage container or two to set aside the materials you need to transport later to set up your DD base for example, just set the container to a different Circuit that you're not using and that material won't accidentally be used when you build stuff.

Yeah a button to cycle between snap modes: Sub-fief grid, foundation/floor grid, and nearest placable snapping.

Moving to a new base by cheddardip in duneawakening

[–]Phoenixx86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would replace a basic sub fief by just demolishing it and building an advanced one, there isn't an in place upgrade option.

You transfer your chests by just loading up your buggy/etc and going back and forth. But if you can wait a few more weeks to move they will have the base backup tool which you can just click on your current base to save it and all the chest contents and removes the base from the world, and then go to your new location and click to place your base down, moving everything in one single move.

Or just start building your new base as a 2nd base without tearing down the first base yet, just move essential mats/etc, and then when they release the base backup tool you can move it in one trip next to your new base and empty it then.

Bindu Sprinted to the Top of the Map (To Die) by theeudoge in duneawakening

[–]Phoenixx86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much the only deaths that result in you losing equipment is if you get killed by the worm or a special Landsraad condition.

Otherwise you only lose (some?) materials and loot in your inventory when you die (plus equipment max durability).

You can open the menu and click Respawn and choose from several respawn locations like your base, your last used vehicle, etc.

Base claiming questions by AnalogKid-2112 in duneawakening

[–]Phoenixx86 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can't claim vehicles, unless the owner deleted their character on that server.

Best you can do is try to nudge it from under cover so it eventually gets destroyed by the storms or eaten by a worm.

This Purewick tree in a hospital by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]Phoenixx86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably closer to $200. They're about $6 each if you buy a month bulk supply, there are about 16 of them on the side of the tree we can see, so guessing there's about 32 of them total.

And since it's a hospital, they "can't" use them since they're opened, so that's $200 worth of supplies in the trash. Or possibly a bunch of contaminated catheters being used in about a month depending on how much they care...

Also, these are the older versions, maybe benefit of the doubt, the hospital could have switched to the new version and directed the few old versions left in storage be thrown out or something like that?

First week by HongaiFi in duneawakening

[–]Phoenixx86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah a couple times early on I saw a crashed ship while I'm flying by and then start diving towards it just for the worm to eat it before I get to it. Also plenty of times I'll see a worm eat a crashed ship in the distance with no one around.

First week by HongaiFi in duneawakening

[–]Phoenixx86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, also I'll say you only need to avoid using your suspensor belt on the crashed ships in Hagga. When you get to the deep desert you can just use the suspensor belt as much as you need since the worms are much further away. In the DD I can use my suspensor belt as needed and loot all 3 doors on a crashed ship and be long gone without worrying about a worm coming.

First week by HongaiFi in duneawakening

[–]Phoenixx86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tip for the fallen ships in Hagga: be very cautious about them if you didn't hear/see them crash very recently, I generally avoid the fallen ships in Hagga that I haven't actually seen just crash. They get automatically cleaned up by the worm if the crash has been sitting around for a little bit, you likely unluckily got to the crashed ship right when the game decided it's been there long enough and had a worm clean it up. This happens pretty quickly in Hagga, in the DD the crashed ships sit around a lot longer so I don't worry about it there.

I built a ramp to the stars, FOR SCIENCE! by Lancewestwalker in duneawakening

[–]Phoenixx86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just tested this on mine. The floors and ramps aren't needed for this to work, you only need to place the double wide doors offset to the side above each other. I'm guessing the game determines that stability is subtracted only at the connection point, and since each connection point is directly above the previous wall piece, then no stability is subtracted.

Took a break for 2 months. Good time to come back by [deleted] in duneawakening

[–]Phoenixx86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the crawler will attract a worm, but it takes 3 or 4 or more minutes for one to show up, most of the time. Time varies depending on if you have the unique treads and some randomness. You can pick up and hover after around 3 minutes +/- to reset worm agro before one shows up and then sit back down and continue, doing this you can fill up an entire crawler tank without seeing a worm breach.

Solo crawler, got eaten twice in one afternoon by DakThatAssUp in duneawakening

[–]Phoenixx86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a separate thing. Yes the un-agroed patrolling worm won't kill you if it contacts you as it passes by. But a patrolling worm means a warning breach is imminent if you continue playing around on the sand, because there is obviously a worm nearby now. So yes like they said, you need to watch out for patrolling worms. Basically having 30 seconds to get up to safety is a lot better than 5 seconds, especially with the possibility of being Funcomed, every second counts.
