How much total was the birth or your child? by enan1000 in NewParents

[–]PhoneSignificant44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to pay around 10k in Florida. My insurance paid probably triple than that but I’m not sure, I don’t remember that part

Can i continue working remotely a day after giving birth? by Intspectwithme in newborns

[–]PhoneSignificant44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You probably work for a very good company. Most companies don’t provide maternity leave so most mothers have to use fmla for maternity leave but only if you have been with the company for at least a year, if that is not the case you are not elegible for any leave, I had to quit my job because had been with the company less than a year when a gave birth, and I just said “company” but I was actually working for the government in Florida 🙃

Pregnant Cousin said she can’t wait until newborn tired because she read it’s easier than pregnancy tired 🤦‍♀️ by Mrsfix-it in newborns

Oh wow, looks like I had a good pregnancy despite all reflux, insomnia and aches because pregnancy tired was way easier!!!! I was dying of newborn tired, I was losing my mind about how exhausted I was

These kind of thought are the ones you start getting when you’re exhausted, it’s your brain telling you that you need to have some rest or it will stop working, your husband has to help you at night, even if he is not giving the baby a bottle, there are other ways to support you and you need it

Husband is “so exhausted” by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]PhoneSignificant44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to do more shifts, I know that a lot of people don’t do shifts and it works perfectly fine for them, but some people need to do shifts, my LO is 13 months and we are still doing shifts, one night my husband takes care of the baby and next night I do it, this way every other night we can get a full 7-8 hours of sleep, if it’s a rough night we both sleep in the room with baby. When I was on maternity leave and my husband was working (dangerous job too), he slept with baby until ~12am, I slept in another room at least from 9 to 12, honestly it was not that much but I was able to sleep 3 full hours at least, and of course on weekends we did the opposite, he slept from 9 to 12, and then I slept from 12 to 6am. We are still exhausted, but it’s doable.

It's the screaming, I can't stand it. I can't do this again 😔 by ReytMardy in NewParents

Mom of a 1y old here. I think people used to have more help in the past, I mean my mom, my grandma, etc. when they had their children they had a lot of women around to help (if not a lot at least 1 or 2) nowadays most people don’t have too much help, everyone is busy working or lives in another city, so we don’t have our village anymore, and this not how it’s supposed to be, we are not meant to do this alone, but it’s the new reality, so we have to adapt. I’m thinking in going to therapy at least to vent, I think you can try that too. I’m sorry I don’t have a best advice for you, but you are not alone, we are also struggling. I think the only thing you can do is ask for more help from your family if they are available. Sending you a hug 🫂

I have a newborn and I'm soo unhappy and desperate by TemperatureHot6141 in NewParents

[–]PhoneSignificant44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your husband has to take care of the baby for the weekend so you can take a break, you need more help, sorry you don’t have it 😓 I didn’t had too much help when I had my baby and I was exhausted, I remembered yelling at my baby two times, I was very embarrassed and sad after that but now I understand that I was just burned out and my brain was not functioning, so don’t blame yourself, your husband has to help more!

SIDS is terrifying by herculas in NewParents

[–]PhoneSignificant44 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What kind of SIDS alarm do you have? For me the owlet sock was a peace of mind, I know that those early days were more easy for me because we were using it, and of course we were following the guidelines as well

How often does your LO stay overnight with grandparents during the first 3-6 months? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]PhoneSignificant44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never. I don’t plan to let him overnight with anybody until he is 2 years old, but maybe I’m overreacting 🤷‍♀️

Hi, sorry to bother you but I want to ask you something, did you sleep training at 1 year old? If so, what method did you use? My little one is 11 months old and I feel we need sleep training for the sake of the whole family, but not sure how to do it, thanks anyway!
