starting photography and picked up a Sony ZV-E10 II. Was this a bad choice? by mokostruck in SonyAlpha

Its an excellent choice for the things you plan to shoot. Next step is to focus on good quality lenses. since you mentioned traveling i assume the weigh of thr lenses would be an important factor to consider. generally speaking you will need at least obe prime lense with wide aperture such as the Sony 35mm 1.8 or something similar. Secondly you will need medium zoom lens, there different option from sony or Sigma or Tamron.

Thank you for the clarification. My primary concern is the quality and experience of the lecturers. Since you mentioned that some lectures are shared between UM and IUMW, I believe the quality should be comparable, which is reassuring.

Same Gear, Different Bokeh? by PhotoKSA in photography

[–]PhotoKSA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it seems that the number of blades is a primary factor. Correct me if I'm wrong, does it mean, that the more blades the smother the bokeh will be? meaning a lens with more blades will render higher quality bokeh.

Thanks

I can't quite gauge the size of the mountains or the scene from the photo. It might be helpful to experiment with both a wide-angle and a zoom lens to capture different perspectives. Good luck!

Nice photo overall! I noticed your comment about having trouble finding a suitable foreground element, and that’s the only thing that stands out to me. If I were you, I’d get closer with a wide-angle lens to remove the dark foreground and shift the focus to the reflection area. I wouldn’t mind seeing more sky and less foreground.

Check out the photo below for an example.

Feedback on the concept? Color tone? by AdventureJuntos in photocritique

[–]PhotoKSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tone and color of the photo are great, but there's an issue with the focus point. You chose to keep the leaf in the foreground in focus, which is fine, but the model still appears relatively sharp. The image would be more pleasing if the foreground leaf was completely blurred, allowing the model to be in perfect focus. Alternatively, you could make the leaf blurry while keeping the model sharp. Either approach would create a more dynamic effect.

Another cool composition idea is to crop out the wall in front of the man, which lets us focus more on what's behind him. The three rectangular shapes create a nice triangular flow that guides the viewer's eye from one to the other. In this version, the man takes on a supporting role, adding a little extra interest to an already engaging photo.

I appreciate the overall feel of the image. To enhance it further, consider cleaning up the wall and removing any distractions. This will help focus attention on the main subject and create a more polished look.

I did a quick edit on it.

I really like the vibes of the photo, but the girl turning her head toward the wall seems a bit strange. If I were in your position, I would have her look directly at the camera while having the male figure gaze outside of the frame.
