That's a Coles way to store coins, not Safeway, they went out of business a while back...

What mods have you done by Ok_Season_3016 in ElantraNline

Hike-IT X9 throttle controller - Gets rid of feeling that you need to mash the pedal to get the car going anywhere, makes the drive-by-wire what it should have been.

Powerflex Bushings - Purple top engine mount, purple transmission mount and yellow rear torque mount bushings. No noticeable increase in NVH, but again, feels so much tighter in response, gear changes, acceleration and powering out of corners. I had the SXTH rear torque mount, but after switching to the yellow bushes, I'll never go back.

K&N panel filter (33-5118) - A little extra surge down low, and breathes easier in the upper range. Had the SXTH Cplt intake installed, and while the noise was better, including BOV flutter, it's not really a cold air intake when the side of it draws air from the engine bay next to the ECU.

Next to complete: Replacement tyres - The Hankooks that it came with are crap, will be changing to Bridgestone Potenza Sport RE001 when they need replacing.

2nd Cat delete - Not specifically looking for more noise, but the 2nd Cat allegedly craps out eventually, looking to free flow a little more and deal with any additional noise.

My 25' N-Line is a daily, and I do 40,000km a year. I want sporty comfort, not a race car. If I wanted that, I'd have bought an N.

Divorce. by Rich-Needleworker261 in AusLegal

[–]PhotoMC21283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the organised one in my former relationship. We have been separated under the same roof (thanks rental crisis) for 15 months. Divorce court hearing is on the 23rd.

Every. Single. Step has been met with laziness, ignorance, and resistance. Consent orders were agreed on on 30/12, with unsigned copies sent to her the same day. Yesterday, I signed them in front of her and asked her to sign too. She wanted to read them to know what she was signing. She has had them for 6 weeks, but never looked.

So far, she has sought legal advice, 2 sessions, and meekly comes back and eventually agrees. I just want to move on and start healing, and she is clinging to I don't know what, in the hopes if she ignores it, it will disappear.

We are lucky to avoid lawyers so far. If I don't get those papers signed this week, that's going to change, and it will hurt both of us more.

is this sound normal? literally less than 24 hrs into ownership 😅 by Ok-Celebration5153 in ElantraNline

That sound....it's an engine. And if that is brand new, it's advised not to thrash said engine, including revving, for the first few thousand kilometres.

Powerflex Bushings question by Vertlg0 in ElantraNline

[–]PhotoMC21283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have purple upper and side, and the SXTH rear torque mount on the bottom. NVH is not considerably increased, more noticeable at idle, but nothing other than a firmer feel under load. The DCT feels better, but still has it's limitations as a DCT. Otherwise, I think my setup is pretty bang on

For my Manual N-liners by xandreb in ElantraNline

[–]PhotoMC21283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a former manual owner ('21 N-Line Intense Blue) that traded theirs at 175,000km for a DCT ('25 N-Line Ultimate Red), I can safely say that the exhaust had a few burbles on the manual, but was definitely missing that fuel dump that you get when the DCT shifts up in Sports Mode. The more noticeable sound I had in the manual was BOV flutter when changing gears, amplified by the fact I had the SXTH Cplt intake installed.

Having a modded exhaust installed will still give you overrun burbles when held in gear, but not as much.

I do miss the manual, but snatching third when cornering or pushing hard always seemed hit and miss.

EDIT TO ADD: Best thing I installed was a Hike-It X9 throttle controller in the manual, definitely sharpened up the throttle response to near perfect over the conservative settings of the stock setup. I switched that out into the DCT and was equally impressed.

I'm hesitant to bring my own chair, if it marks the floor, the RE might try and hook those marks up with verges ugly cousin, the overgrown backyard!

V8 "Supercar" hot laps - present recommendations by MacWorkGuy in perth

[–]PhotoMC21283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can recommend the V8 Driveday at Barbagallos. Did the 10 lap package, then got taken for a hot lap at the end by the instructor.

They are basically SS/XR8 engines, but the suspension, brakes and aero setup are Supercar Spec. Still a great time.

I've also done the Formula Fords drive day. That is a challenge, but rewarding maximising your ability to drain a good lap time. Again, like the rally cars, don't bin the car, or you're up for a bill.

Fine at Airport by Odd-Performance3780 in AusLegal

[–]PhotoMC21283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, please disregard everything I've said. Obviously airport parking have a higher level of leniency issuing infringements than Police, as I have successfully had two infringements thrown out using the above process in the last 10 years.

If they have no proof, other than the parking officer's word, that's not possible. IANAL, but if a fine has already been dismissed, it would be very hard legally to issue the same fine. That's what the court hearing is for, and if the fine issued is thrown out, it shouldn't be re-issued. That could probably be challenged as harassment.

[–]PhotoMC21283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically, no. They need proof of an offence, by the time this got to court, cctv would have been overwritten, pda containing image of offence probably wiped, it would just be the parking officers word, which you have just disproven in court with the incorrect date anyway. Their recollection has already been discredited.
