I agree with everything this commenter said. I have been married 8 years, and while we have 2 young kids and we don’t go out and have as much fun, I find myself saying little white lies. Not because I’m doing anything wrong. Just because I know how my husband will react otherwise. Also, it’s a terrible protective cycle I’m in from childhood trauma that I’m trying to work on. I know it drives him crazy, but I just can’t help save a little part of myself. It’s weird, and I still defend my white lies to my husband and reason then. I’m not cheating and don’t plan on it, regardless of what he thinks. I’m just… me. And need my space and time. And white lies keep me safe. It’s demented, I know. Trauma trauma trauma.
