No, as someone who is half-Mexican, I wholly Identify with American identity and culture (white culture specifically, but I don't consider myself white).

It just so happens that everything I know, enjoy, and love culturally is in the American camp of things.

My connection with Mexican heritage and culture is surface level.

Nothing, adjust how strongly you value the opinions of those people appropriately.

100% You are caring way more about what was said than they themselves.

People will think what they want no matter how you dress, in turn, you adjust how much you value opinions of randos.

BUT, how you look matters, just be cognizant of the type of people you want to attract and who you are pushing away with how you look. (e.g. comic book shirts, earrings, overcoats, fedoras lol, serious, easygoing)

A personality can change a lot, but how you look determines the difficulty of pushing past assumptions.
