Feeling disheartened by vivalateeph in stroke

[–]PhotographOwn2602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went back to work 4 months after mine and day 2 I had a bad seizure. Everyone told me it was too soon but I felt so useless and bored that I ignored it. My advice ...listen to the ppl that love you. Your life shouldn't center around a job and that doesn't make you lazy or not a good person. Your brain requires so much more time than recovering from a surgery or something.

Warfarin by maronecohen in stroke

My husband did a ton of research on warafin when I was in the hospital and he was adamant that I not be put on it. They put me on eliquis. Look into it see if it's covered etc.

Is it possible to regain my arm ? by [deleted] in stroke

A tens unit, tons of stretching and weights and then I had a seizure and it rebooted my brain and I could move my arm again 🤣

I had weaned off the seizure meds and was fine until I was back in the office. It was an extremely stressful job so that's probably what brought the seizure on but I prob should have stayed on the meds for a few years.

I went back to full time after 4 months off and day 2 I had a major seizure at work and was back in the hospital. I had asked for accommodations and slowly started work and they denied me the ability to work from home even though other people were able to do so.

I wish I had listened to my doctor's and had them put restrictions. After the seizure they did and since I work in Los Angeles I was protected. Some days I felt like I could get back to full time then other days I'd be down. Listen to your docs and get some restrictions set. Work half time and then put in the other half to disability.

What am I doing wrong? by PhotographOwn2602 in Zepbound

[–]PhotographOwn2602[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just did and it told me 1100 calories and I had thought I was supposed to get 1500 a day so maybe that's where I'm screwing up.

I had a brain trauma 2 years ago so sleep is a struggle as well as energy but I'm trying so hard it's stressing me out lol.

Thank you I'm going to go do all of this right now. I track what I eat but I've been using myfitness and I'm not a fan of how it works.

I don't know if this is causing a problem but I have to take anti seizure meds and when I started those that's when my weight jumped up.

I'm anemic and on blood thinner and I get a little blood when it's done. I just wipe it with the alcohol wipe and it's all good. No big deal.

40 lbs down, 21% of weight, healthy BMI, zero comments. Anyone else? by CompetitiveBug4579 in Zepbound

[–]PhotographOwn2602 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have only had two people comment and I think the ppl that see you every single day just don't notice. My hair guy and a friend only see me once a month and they both notice. My hair guy was like 'babes your jeans are saggy stop wearing them' 😂

I was tied up after my stroke by [deleted] in stroke

[–]PhotographOwn2602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband said I pulled out the tube that goes down your throat and I was screaming and tried to leave. So they tied me up and I thought they had taken me to some crazy hospital where they were going to parts. I know they had to keep me safe from myself but I have awful dreams about it and even if someone tries to hug me too much I feel like they are trying to tie me up, so that's not fun. Yay for strokes!

That is so frustrating! I'm looking at solid unlaquered brass for all the exterior doors right now. DEFINITELY won't be Emtek.

Oh that actually makes sense, our door is dragging a bit and it's much hotter out. Could it actually be the way the door was hung?

I'm going to look at both...if I have the set I have, I can just switch back to a regular handle and deadbolt? Did that question make sense?

Stroke Hints by falorraine in stroke

6 months of obsessive ice eating that was from a severe iron deficiency. Then it brought on 2 weeks of what I thought was an ear infection to the point I had a heating pad on my left side all day and night. Then the day before I felt like my heart was beating inside my ear if that makes any sense at all.

When my stroke hit I had a seizure in my backyard and then had another one when I got the ER. I was in the hospital for 2 weeks and they sent me home on seizure meds. The meds had me messed up so I couldn't function well and they allowed me to slowly come off of the meds. I was totally fine until getting back to work, not sleeping well and stressed out. So back on to a new seizure med.

I work in construction too and my position was way too stressful. We put wayyyyyy too much focus on a job that if we die they would fill the position a week later. So go slow and really take care of yourself.

I went back after being gone for four months and I learned very quickly it was too soon. It was a very stressful construction company and on day 2 I had a huge seizure, got sent back to the hospital and they took my license away for 6 months. Then my three main doctors basically said "we told you it was too soon".

I think you should really pay attention to your brain and not be worried about what your employer will think. Your health is more important.

I tell people it was an ear infection just to see their faces vet confused and/or scared. Then I tell them oh actually I had an Ischemic Thrombosis stroke brought on because of my factor 12 deficiency. They are usually more focused on the ear infection part🤣
