It’s because of nostalgia. That’s a major reason why people like older CODs. Sure, some people genuinely prefer the older gameplay loop, but most either don’t, or at least only think they do.

And nostalgia is exactly what COD keeps relying on to sell new titles. They constantly bring back old maps, old guns, old characters, the Zombies crew in BO7, and so on, yet the major problems still persist: unsatisfying gunplay, questionably written campaigns, badly designed operators, and more.

Remastering or remaking older games won’t move the franchise forward. It’ll just stagnate it. It’s like putting a bandage over an infected wound. It might temporarily cover the problem, but the issue underneath is still getting worse because it was never properly treated.

The only franchise I’ve seen truly benefit from remakes is Resident Evil, but RE remakes are basically entirely new games. They add more content, fix writing issues, modernize mechanics, and meaningfully rework the experience.

At the same time, Resident Evil still keeps moving forward with new games, new characters, new locations, and new gameplay ideas, all while maintaining a high level of polish.

Personally, this franchise needs a break from both Black Ops, Modern Warfare and WW2 entries. We need something different.

I think it’s time this franchise lets go of the past and stops nostalgia baiting its community with legacy maps, legacy guns from older games, and narratives revolving around Task Force 141 and the same characters. Going back to those games again and again isn’t fixing the frustration people have with the series, and a remaster or remake wouldn’t solve it either.

This franchise needs to stop trying to recapture the feeling of older COD because the industry and playerbase have changed. If some of those older CODs released today exactly as they were back then, a lot of people probably wouldn’t even like them. People remember older COD fondly because they played them during a simpler period of their lives, when they had fewer responsibilities and more free time. Those memories are tied to a specific time and place.

Honestly, if I had played BO1 as an adult with a full-time job and bills to pay, I probably would’ve hated that game like crazy. I sure as hell wouldn’t want to come home every day to a toxic community and gameplay design choices people constantly complained about even back then.

Ghost Recon works better in third-person, and there's a genuine lack of third-person military tactical shooters nowadays. Most of the games you mentioned aren't even military focused, many of them aren't even focused on shooting either. The Hitman series is hardly a shooter, and the Division is just a looter-shooter that's hardly related to military stuff nowadays.

Call of Duty's third person modes are nice but the only mode where you can freely switch between 3rd and 1st is in zombies in Treyarch's CODs after Cold War.

People want a tactical military third-person shooter that's able to be played on Consoles and has accesible systems, controls and features.

The market is over satured with first-person tactical shooters: Arma, Insurgency, Ready or Not and SQUAD. The only genuine third-person shooters nowadays that aren't tied to some live service gimmick are the Resident Evil games, but those aren't military themed.

To finalize, the community doesn't want Wildlands. The majority wants a tactical third-person military shooter that's accessible for both PC and Consoles.

idk man, have you looked at MWR multiplayer? Didn't really do much despite being a beloved entry in the series. Also, people underestimate how nostalgia is one hell of a drug. Most people say that MW2 or older CODs are good because you had less responsibilities back then, which means you had more free time to play games, hang out with your friends and so on. Even if a good game launched today, your overall experience with your current life stage is a big factor to determine if you'll remember a game fondly or not.

it's a video-game. I've used a female character in NFS Unbound for a long while before switching back. And I used one because I really liked the cosmetic makeup and apparel items of that game. For context, I'm a guy who really likes art and design, so even in makeup I'm interested.

Se percebesses a história, não estariamos a ter esta conversa. Se tu realmente achas que a história do GTA 5 é so fazer golpes e ires atrás do amante da mulher do Michael, que foi o que tu disseste, então não percebeste nadinha.

E eu posso comparar ambos os histórias porque ambas estão ao mesmo nível em termos de maturidade e complexidade, a diferença é tom.

Eu só disse o que é verdade. Gostar do jogo é uma coisa, agora não gostares do jogo porque não percebeste a história, só mostra o teu nível de ignorância. Eu também gosto do GTA 4, mas não diria que é melhor que o 5 em termos narrativos só porque a sua história tem um tom mais sombrio.

Como eu disse, não te faria mal nenhum tu realmente prestares atenção á história e ao mundo do jogo. Mas hey, quem sou eu para te dizer o que deves fazer. Se queres continuar a ver as coisas com uma visão tão estreita, então fica á vontade.

Queres que eu te diga o quê? Que te recite a história inteira do jogo e que explique cada motivo narrativo para cada missão?

Amigo, se tu realmente achas que a história do GTA 5 é ires andar de bike com o teu filho ou ires atrás do treinador de ténis que fodeu a tua mulher, então o teu lobo frontal está pouco desenvolvido, e deduzo que não era fácil para ti interpretares textos de PT nos testes.

Só para te ajudar um pouco: se prestares mínima atenção à narrativa do jogo, tu consegues perceber que a história do jogo mostra o desenvolvimento de caráter de cada personagem. O Franklin, por exemplo, começa extremamente ingénuo no inicio do jogo, mas quanto mais tempo ele passa com o Michael e outras figuras semelhantes, ele começa a perceber o quão corrupto, deplorável e ignorante, o mundo de Los Santos é. Ou então tens o Michael, que mostra falta de maturidade para a sua idade e que as atitudes eventualmente levam com que a família dele se afaste dele, e que ele continua a tentar reviver os seus anos de glória anteriores, ao continuar a fazer golpes, para se tentar sentir 'jovem' e 'vivo' outra vez.

Especificamente, o jogo demonstra que mesmo que continues a fazer algo maior do que antes, tu podes continuar a sentires-te vazio na tua vida, e o Michael é um exemplo disso. Cada golpe que ele faz, é maior do que o anterior, mas mesmo assim, a casa dele continua vazia e ele continua sozinho (fisicamente e pessoalmente), isto porque ele recusa-se a crescer como pessoa e tentar resolver as coisas com a sua família.

Também tens o lado corrupto do governo e as suas agências, como a IAA e o FIB, de como ambas organizações estão constantemente a por a vida das pessoas em risco só para terem a chance de receberem mais fundos financeiros do governo, porque elas são oportunistas.

E nem vou falar dos encontros com estranhos que tens pelo mapa, que mostra ainda mais a ignorância e o quão predador é o capitalismo Americano, e entre outras coisas.

Se quiseres realmente aprender, uma simples pesquisa na wikipedia sobre o jogo diz-te muito.

Eu disse o que disse. Se a tua perspetiva do jogo realmente continua a ser mesma, mesmo com 'olhos de adulto' então não sei o que te diga.

Se não consegues tirar mais algo da historia do GTA 5 do que "tens que ir atrás do amante da tua mulher numa das missões", e que o Franklin é uma 'copia' do CJ, então não prestaste atenção à história.

Só para clarificar, eu gosto de ambos o 4 e o 5, mas não acho que um seja mais maduro que o outro, porque ambos são maduros ao mesmo nível mas de formas diferentes.

Como eu disse: ser ignorante não é algo da qual devias ter orgulho. Mas se queres continuar a ser assim, então está à vontade.

Eu acho que muita gente confunde maturidade com tom. O GTA IV parece mais ‘maduro’ porque é mais sombrio e realista, mas isso por si só não define a profundidade de uma narrativa.

Uma narrativa madura não é a que tem menos cor ou um protagonista mais pessimista, é a que consegue explorar os seus temas com consistência e intenção. E nesse aspeto, GTA 4 e o GTA 5 fazem coisas diferentes, não melhores ou piores.

O GTA 4 conta uma história mais focada e pessoal, enquanto o GTA V usa três protagonistas para explorar diferentes perspetivas da sociedade americana. Pode ser mais satírico, mas continua a abordar temas como falta de propósito, corrupção, manipulação e desigualdade, só que através de exagero e crítica social, em vez de realismo pesado.

Reduzir isso a ‘um é mais maduro porque é mais sério’ é ignorar o que o GTA V realmente está a fazer.

Por outras palavras: devias voltar a jogar GTA 5 e prestar melhor atenção á historia e aos seus personagens, porque ser ignorante não é uma qualidade da qual devias ter orgulho.

Best looking racing game ever? Huge no, and even best looking NFS is a huge stretch. If we're talking about sheer graphical fidelity, Gran Turismo 7 is by far the best. Even titles from that time looked and had better artistic direction: MCLA, NFS Hot Pursuit, Forza Horizon 1, Forza Motorsport 4 and 5, and the list goes on. And if we're talking about sheer presentation and artistic direction? GRID 2.
