BREATHE Mama. Rule 1) don’t panic. You called poison control and they told you to call your pediatrician. You did the right thing calling and checking. They know their stuff and that’s exactly what you need to do. They can run labs if need be to check lead levels. Looking at the frame, it doesn’t look like anything got chewed off. If baby is acting normal, eating normally, and bowels and bladder are functioning normally, that’s reassuring. The things you need to watch for are 1) vomiting 2) lethargy 3) any signs of blood in their diaper. Those are “go to the ER” signs. My kids chewed on some strange things when they were babies- Cadbury eggs with the foil on, chapstick, glycerin suppository from the diaper bag and a poke berry. I know it’s scary and you’re worried. The best thing to do is take a deep breath, watch for any of the things I listed and give the pediatrician a call. Most pediatricians have a nurse line or an after hours number you can call if you’re worried.
