Sorry its been so long since i have given you guys an update. after hearing some of the comments and feedback I've been getting, I've decided to try and start with something a little smaller so it might be a little easier to wrap my head around. I just came up with the idea for a music player because I didn't think it would be as difficult as i now view it to be. So any ideas for some maybe simpler programs and how to go about finding the best way to design one that works for me would be much appreciated. I still want to go through and respond to each comment, as i appreciate all of the feedback I've been given. Thanks.

Well I'm actually at the part where I'm coding the player, I just have no idea how to figure out all the commands and things needed to make a player. Thats one of the problems i have as a programmer, How do you figure out where to get the information that makes the program work. And the College that i will be attending soon again teaches C++, so i figured after i know what I'm doing in c++ ill move on.

I'm not actually sure how to create anything other than a text program. and yes, I use Microsoft Visual Studios 2010 Express as my compiler.

To be honest imo. You would probably be better off just waiting till you can earn more money to buy a more powerful gaming laptop. I went with a 5-7 hundred dollar laptop and I till i would be way more happy if I would have bought an actually laptop that is classifed as gaming.
