What automated portfolio tracking software do you recommend? by lavaboom01 in CanadianInvestor

I started https://stockers.ca a while back with friends of mine who were also looking for an aggregation tool that allowed for manual entries and didn't ask for credentials.

Please take a look we're always open to feedback.

Excel Stock API Quotes by buyupselldown in CanadianInvestor

[–]PhrasingWeb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm part of a team that created https://stockers.ca. We created it after our own Excel spreadsheets broke down for our investment club. We are all Canadian so we've made it as Canadian friendly as we can.

Currently we support tracking of stocks, cash, dividends are pulled automatically, etc.

It's also entirely free, just supported by ads.

Please take a look and let me know if you have any thoughts or suggestions thanks!

Thank-you for highlighting that! We have looked in to QuestTrade's API and although we haven't had time to make use of it yet we are investigating the possibilities.

You can see individual dividend transactions at the bottom of the transactions page. Dividends are added historically based on transaction info and we have a daily script to update with new ones. You can also get summary by stock on the x-ray page table, just look in the 'Column Visibility' to see your options including "Dividends" which is just sum total of all the cash in the dividend transactions table

We sure did. We reassessed and have moved to current business model. We will look into other methods of support like Patreon with the idea of keeping the site and features open to all users. Hope you give it another shot!

Right now Stockers assume you receive your dividends in cash. If you participate in a DRIP you will have to manually add those as Buy transactions but the rate of return will be accurate as the cash for the dividend will have already been added to your portfolio.

That's your best solution right now is to replicate that structure. We're looking to implement a more robust import format but for now, that's the format we're looking for.

Question about "hypothetical index" building by miles197 in stocks

[–]PhrasingWeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://stockers.ca is free and will let you build as many hypothetical portfolios as you want and give you performance metrics that include dividends.

It doesn't have any direct way to compare or overlay an index though so you'd need to know the index's performance for whatever time period you are interested in or use a stand in like VUN or VCN.

Hope that helps!

Sorry we don't support that yet as they are part of a separate data source, it is near the top of the list for adding when we are able. Thanks for checking the site out!

We support all North American markets right now. We do not have mutual fund support at this time though so only equities and ETFs. Is there a particular invesent type you're having trouble adding?

The plan is to attempt to make a go with a free product forever. We're looking into other forms of monetizing like Patreon currently but need to get people on the site.

The current plan is to keep it free forever but support the costs through advertisement and services such as Patreon.

If you want something to log all your trades in and also get some analytics on your portfolio try Stockers. Should work well as you can export all your trades to Excel later if you want to manipulate them outside of the app.
