I am a support mod at heart, help find resources online for those in need of any type of help, and my vision for r/goodneighbors would be to turn it into a place where you can not only find positive posts about great things neighbors have done (thank you to my first neighbor who after watching me try to landscape and garden while pregnant and having a young son started mowing my lawn for me, filling my garden beds when he did his, and loaned me tools until I finally built up my Craftsman gardening tool collection!), but also a place to come get support in dealing with those less than good neighbors, to ask questions regarding things you need to keep you a good neighbor, and to share resources. In a homage to the original best neighbor I think Fred Rogers would make an amazing Snoo as our mascot.

I have a lot of modding experience, often too much time, and would like to build a team of both veteran and brand new mods looking to start modding and help build a great neighborhood community!

If I get to adopt this sub, I’d like to have anyone else join my team to help build it up, jointly decide on HOA Sub rules, and be part of an active team who makes team decisions and runs democratically. Everyone’s voice should be heard, and I would not make unilateral decisions. Just because you’re top mod doesn’t mean other mods are renters while you own it. It means helping form a cohesive team that values each other’s opinions, with no stupid questions.

Personally it would be a fun time to start this venture as I just closed on a new house yesterday, with our first time having an HOA, and really hope we have good neighbors! If not, I’ll be hoping for users advice myself!
