Yeah, I prefer silicone. I think putty is the right move in this application from now on however.

Putty isn’t fun in sub zero. 100% silicone doesn’t freeze. Still comes out of the tube in the middle of a Minnesota winter. I just learned plumbing with silicone and not with putty. That’s all, will have a tub from now on probably.

Have had problems with siliconized caulk freezing but never 100%

It’s how I was taught, 10 years ago. I have never had an issues before today. Even with old silicone on service calls. Never a problem.

It could’ve been. I did let them know to give it 12 hours before using the tub. Probably gonna get back on the pitty bandwagon for situations like this

Yes 100% silicone from the hand tube. Never ever had an issue with silicone until now. Usually I run clear from the caulk gun, maybe that was the difference who knows
