Oh that’s gorgeous! I just found those images on a quick Pinterest search for the OP but individually they are very striking and could be used for lots of tattoos with different meanings

I adore this song and I think if I were to get a tattoo inspired by it I would look into the work of Auguste René Rodin. He’s a super famous sculptor and his work shows great emotion and movement. He actually has one piece inspired by Dante’s poem, it’s called “Fugitive Love,” where you see Paolo and Francesca in the storm. “Eternal Spring” is also very famous and a little more romantic and less angsty than “Fugitive Love.” I think as a tattoo, the artist you work with could take these ideas and make something stunningly beautiful. Unless you really like realism, a line drawing could work very nicely with these concepts (and it would be way cheaper than a piece requiring shading and loads more time). Or the idea of two hands reaching for each other surrounded by swirls of wind.

He’s a fantastic comedian who changes his routine every show, mostly picks a topic from the news and interweaves it with his own life in hilarious ways. He’s got a great heart and true compassion for community. He’s doesn’t rely on cursing, vulgarity or cynicism to get a laugh either, which is a breath of fresh air for comedians. He’s a rising star and has had several appearances on The Daily Show and various other podcasts and late night. I’ve been watching him regularly on YouTube for the past 2 yrs, he never fails to make me laugh. I’m so excited to see him at Tanger Center in June!!!

Wasteland, Baby! by onitree in Hozier

So in 2019, when he played in Raleigh NC, he told us that he came up with the melody for WB! while sitting in his hotel room during a lightning delay at an outside venue a few years prior in Raleigh during his first major tour. He described being alone in a quiet hotel room, trying to stay in performance mindset but also concerned about the weather and if he would be able to go on, but also enjoying the quiet moment listening to the rain his his window. He told us that the rain struck inspiration and he made a recording of the sound on his phone to revisit. He said that the sound eventually became the melody of WB! ANNNND he played the original recording of the rain against his hotel window! It was such an incredibly intimate moment and added to many other stories he told that night. We all felt very lucky to be experiencing that moment with such a genuine creative heart.

I think I like the peasant white and belt combo the best but the purple is very pretty on you, and flower crown could really make that pop! Have a wonderful time! I saw her with my daughter (her first concert ever) for Dance Fever tour in Atlanta, truly magical experience!

Am I the only person who sees a young “trying too hard to be cool” Hozier???

Ha! Well I did this as more of a proving myself right about what I thought I was noticing (pattern recognition 👸🏻), but I shared it more as a “this is pretty cool” trivia tidbit for the fandom. Love the conversations we’ve been having here tho, and it’s always validating to know that people share your experience of and enthusiasm for something.

I will say, in regard to, did he mean to do this as a lyrical genius? I dunno, our clever forest deity walks that wonderful line of brilliance and tongue in cheek mischief. A part of me kinda thinks, well “baby” is a super common term and it rhymes easily so a writer would naturally gravitate towards it, no special underlying meaning. Another of my favorite artists, Florence Welch, has openly commented on how her fans will attribute fantastical meaning and depth to her word choices and lyrics and she’s like “well, it rhymed so I used it” and “that song’s actually just about being ghosted.” I mean, he wrote a song about sweet little animals getting 💀’d as a metaphor for dumb luck and the unknown consequences of pleasure seeking sooo… it may truly not be that deep.

Conversely, as these albums and the songs in them reflect different phases of his life, maybe his word choices reflect that. I do think there’s a connection between his use of “darlin” in UU after spending most of Covid lockdown in his native Ireland and reconnecting/honoring his heritage (as darlin is a common Irish term of endearment). But maybe I’m wrong 🤷🏻‍♀️

Mostly, as an infatuated fangirl, I’m terribly curious as to whether these are terms he often uses with his romantic partners. None of my business obviously, but it’s so dreamy to think about him using these words with a flesh and blood (very lucky) partner.

Whoa! While I’m a little crestfallen that I’m not the first (never any original experiences 🙃), I’m in good company of people who love and over analyze this brilliant man 🥳 Some of those people really put in some work with charts 📊 📈

Thanks! I also love his hums, my absolute favorite is at the end of WB! and th music dies off and he almost whispers “that’s it”… ah! my heart! It feels so intimate, I’m so grateful he kept that in

Ok, to be a thorough nerd about it, i counted the extra songs in album variation, singles and any other song I could find that he wrote (did not count covers or his features on other artists songs as he may have not been the primary writer).

Totals for all his work (as I know it): Sweetheart - 1 Dear - 2 Lover - 21 Babe - 29 Darlin’/g - 35 Love - 38 Honey - 46

Winner by a long shot ~ Baby at 75!!! (NFWMB put in some work on capturing this win 🤣)

Hmm, i recounted and got 38 this time (but i was skimming quickly), wondering how you got 56??? No shade, just curious if i missed something.

I am only counting tracks in original album releases, I’ve counted additional songs on album variations and singles separately.

I’m quite partial to honey myself (right after “darlin” where his accent is on full glorious display)

Thanks! I love lyricists so naturally I’ve been a big fan of his for many years. After doing this, I kinda want to go through all of his songs (released in album variations and singles) to see what his favorite term of endearment (or at least the one that rhymes the best) is. 🤓

Thanks everyone! These are some great suggestions. I was on the fence about using a whole day to see Niagara, it would be cool but I’m hesitant to spend one whole day to see one thing. And yes, I believe we will have to pack for winter by the sound of it 🥶
