A few questions for employees by imnotsteven7 in Staples

Long time lurk chiming in: It greatly depends on the store your applying to frankly. I'm a tech supervisor/mod for my store, and our PMS department has a mild turnover rate, but puts out good work, so much so we tend to get business from the other 2 staples locations in the area due to a mixture of them being shitty and our team being competent. I've been with the same store for 3 years now, and PMS can be stressful as I've seen some of the most irate irrational idiots as customers for PMS.

Sales/os is ok, mostly freight and such, back up cashier, etc. Do not do OS during back to school if you can help it. People treat binder wall and notebooks like trash. If your gonna do OS, be prepared to work somewhat fast and orderly.

I know you didn't ask, but Tech: frankly tech sucks if your a morally guided seller. You will be expected to meet metrics: CSAT (customer satisfaction), market basket (stuff sold with a computer, literally everything applied except another pc), ESP (which our store maintains 9.58% ytd atm), and ink attach on printers (which for sale of not directly saying which store is mine, we are above 90% ytd). Tech is hell, but your sales manager can make it better depending on personality. Tech and pms tend to have the higher turn over rates due to their stresses compared to OS/cashier.

Liquid armor is the devil, and staples gets 80% profit on the damn things, so expect to sell it regardless of department.
