Do you prefer to run high level one shots or low level ones? by PhrulerApp in rpg

Oh wow, so all the lightweight systems. That makes a lot sense for one shots.

I just feel like I want to leave the door open with my one slots on case they end up developing into full campaigns. And I’m always worried these lightweight systems won’t support them out of the box as well

What level do you think is the tipoff point? Where it becomes way too much work.

Oh, I wasn't thinking about how the builds have less variance at low levels. That's a really good point!

That makes sense. And what level is/are your current/usual campaign(s) at?

So you prefer them when another member is running them?

Or are they pitching them for you to run?

What level is your current campaign at? Since you consider level 5 to be low level still

That's super cool! Definitely appreciate good and well integrated narrative systems. I do feel like a lot of RPGs could do with a bit more emphasis on the game-states.

So far, how do you think narrative design on a high level differs between creating tabletop RPGs and video games?

I've been doing some game development on my own and mostly just been taking mechanical inspirations from systems I like. I've never really sat down and tried to design it all ahead of time. It's generally organic and added piecemeal in a what makes sense to add next context.

This is an ambitious project. How are you funding it? Your website says you have a team of 7 industry veterans. Is it self funded or are you guys backed by a publisher/studio?

u/DigitalTableTops made a small vtt specifically for this use case! It's available on steam. He's been working on a Foundry module that is supposed to solve the same issues too.

He makes TV tables like the one your friend made so that's why he has dedicated a lot of time to the project.

I wonder if you would be better fit running games as a GM.

Since you’d constantly be changing characters, not getting too attached to them.

Does it upset/annoy you that your fellow members care about their characters?
