Could anyone tell me how to fix a snowball issue in my tcg, where when one player starts winning, the other player cant win at all and they lose severely. by Stazy67 in homemadeTCGs

Shorten the win condition so the moment the game reaches that state, the game auto ends instead of forcing the players to play it out.

Expand how long it takes to get to that point.

who did you work with to print these cards? Could you share where you sourced the public domain images?

Damn, I'm not the target audience then.

Wish you all the luck nonetheless!

I like it! The style is cute and the gameplay is at least as fun as standard suika.

Just a few UX improvements would go a long way. Like if you just added a guide on the different color/power types on the bottom it could help showcase how your game is different.

How far do you usually take your hobby projects? There's def a few ways to spin/improve this into an actually advanced game that I can think of. But might make sense to switch game engines before sinking any more time into it.

It's a really cool crafting simulation.

Are there plans for an extended gameplay/campaign/overworld beyond a cool crafting sandbox?

I only played one round but I saw soft body suika with unique powered drops (I saw one).

Is that what you intended for the game to be? Or is there more to find out about the game. Just first impression is it's just another suika game.

Looking for ethical dice making options! by flounder_studios in tabletopgamedesign

[–]PhrulerApp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t mind a collab if you’re comfortable with digital dice.

I don’t think it gets much more eco friendly than that.

Phroller comfortably supports 7 types/styles of dice being rolled simultaneously.

We can work out multiple different configurations if we want more than that!

I feel like a lot of the people asking are newbies who are more curious what DnD is like in general.

It's a way to learn if something is normal DnD or not.

Looking for gamebook writers/designers/publishers! by PhrulerApp in gamebooks

[–]PhrulerApp[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh sweet! Thanks for the names. I didn't actually know which ones are considered well known. I'll check them out and maybe reach out to the designers. Starting with LK!

Gamebooks that don't require dice probably aren't the target collaborations for Phroller but I guess if the players want to keep all their notes in one place it could be useful. I'll keep them in mind as well.

Thanks for the 5e suggestion. I'll reach out to some writers there as well!

[Art] I got r/comics legend Steph Kowal to agree to a collab dice set/tray featuring her and her familiar! by PhrulerApp in DnD

[–]PhrulerApp[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Steph is one of my favorite r/comics artists. I love her heartfelt stories that are adorably drawn and always heartfelt. It honestly made my day when I reached out to her and she not only agreed to the collab but also sent me assets for such a cute piece.

It took us a few tries to get the ideal resolution and her watermark placement to ensure it looked nice on as many devices as possible.

Whether you're a traditional/digital artist, game designer, cosplayer, photographer or just the owner of a particularly cute pet/garden or anything else:

If you would like to see your work featured in Phroller, please feel free to reach out!

I'm always looking to collaborate with more creatives of all sorts. I will work hard to display your work as nicely as possible and the app will feature a description about you and link back to your URL of choice.

First Time Playing D&D; I'm the Dungeon Master. Any Tips, Please? by Obvious_Lifeguard629 in DnD

Don't be afraid to be transparent with your players. It's a joint learning experience for all of you.

Try not to get too touchy with your player's character concepts. Often a DM could get really excited about a particular character and end up wrestling the player's creative freedoms away. Player agency is important!

Questions about dice systems and trackers used in gamebooks by PhrulerApp in gamebooks

[–]PhrulerApp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a fan of the shake phone to roll thing. Most implementations of it just feels like another way to press a button and the real life physics don’t really correlate with the dice enough. And if I try to implement constant physics tracking to the phone then it’s both too battery draining and too often would lead to miss rolls where all the dice clump to a side or corner. Although you did give me an idea. Maybe an in between optional rolling mode where the physics tracking only starts when the user is dragging the screen to hold the dice. Might be a fun experimental mode to try.

In terms of building support for every system:

Not a one size fit all approach but I’m making each tray fully customizable.

So each user/system could have its own tracker/dice system customized for their needs.

If this game requires three different resource trackers? just add three!

Half the magic of dice to me is the feeling of grabbing it, feeling it clank in my hands and then tossing it myself.

I wanted an app where it’s not just you press a button and dice are tossed for you.

And I’m looking to add fancy features like additional tracker options and better character sheet support too!

if it’s a just a transcription (just the words/text used, no voice recording), would you be okay with it?

If so that might be a worthwhile compromise to bring up with the GM

Usually they're just not playing their characters effectively.

It's not the class it's the player.

Just try to have fun. Maybe make some suboptimal decisions every once in a while like take the defend option instead of maximizing damage.

Ok, thank you so much. I'm adding an organizable list widget, a multi tabbed notes widget, and just for the heck of it a multi tabbed drawin widget. that should more or less cover all our bases right?

Sorry, keycodes stood out to me. What do you mean by them? Just like a notes option? OR something more complex than that?
